Awareness in Covid-19 prevention and control is now the most important thing. The General Secretary called: “We have tried harder and harder; united to be more and more united; determined to be even more determined; The whole nation is one, united with the Party, Government, all-level authorities and sectors to find all ways to prevent and repel the pandemic... Talking to reporters, Lai Viet Van, Head of the Executive Committee of Tan Phu 1 quarter in Di An city’s Tan Binh ward said that the call of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has encouraged the entire Party, army and people from all strata to be united and determined to win the fight against the pandemic. “Since the pandemic occurred in Di An city, we have established 39 community-based anti-Covid-19 groups. These groups are responsible for  propagandizing and mobilizing the local people and workers to well implement measures against the pandemic; monitoring and opportunely detecting suspected cases of Covid-19 in households. For cases of not voluntarily making medical declarations, not complying with measures against the pandemic as prescribed, those returning from pandemic-hit areas who have not yet made medical declarations, etc, they will be immediately reported to the local authorities and health agencies for timely measures by these groups. We have also mobilized businesses, organizations and individuals to support necessities for the local people and workers with extremely difficult circumstances.

Mutual affection, mutual love

In response to the General Secretary's call, activities of “mutual love and affection” are spreading in the community. Vo Huynh Long, Chairman of An Phu ward’s Fatherland Front Committee in Thuan An city said: “In the past few days, we, along with trade union officials, members of the ward, have organized the "Beloved kitchen" program, directly cooked thousands of free meals and sent them to workers in the local isolation and blockade areas for Covid-19 prevention and control. It is known that every day, the "Beloved Kitchen" cooks more than 400 breakfast meals, including beef vermicelli, porridge, noodle soup, sticky rice... for workers at lodging facilities under lockdown. The program is funded by Youth Union officials, members and businesses, organizations, donors.. In addition, the ward has also coordinated with charity organizations and businesses to organize “Zero dong” supermarkets with necessities like rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, vegetables and fruits... for the local laborers and people with extremely difficult circumstances; offered neccesities to people and workers in quarantine and isolation areas...

Whilst, Le Thi Duyen, the owner of a lodging facility in Phu My ward’s quarter 7 in Thu Dau Mot city shared: "Since the 4th wave of Covid-19 pandemic broke out, many workers have been unemployed, making their incomes drop. Street vendors have also been sluggish, losing revenue. Responding to the call of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and provincial Party Committee Secretary to join hands in Covid-19 prevention and control, my family has decided to reduce rental for lodgers in June and give free rental for them in July. Depending on the developments of the pandemic, my family will continue making exemption and reduction for rental in the next few months. I have also bought medicine, hand sanitizer... and necessities like instant noodles, vegetables and fruits for lodgers and those in the local quarantine and isolation areas".

According to Dang Thi Kim Chi, President of the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP)’s Trade Union, the  VSIP’s  Trade Union has implemented activities to take care of workers, especially workers being F0, F1 cases and those living in blockade areas. Not only regularly directing trade union locals to disseminate Covid-19 prevention and control, and coordinating with employers to protect workers' health, the VSIP’s Trade Union has also actively updated information, reviewing businesses affected by the pandemic to promptly take care of trade unionists and workers. Up to now, the VSIP’s Trade Union has supported  nearly VND3.1 billion for 893 F0 workers, 154 F1 workers and 333 workers forced to quit jobs, due to living in blockade zones; mobilized organizations, individuals to donate tons of necessities like rice, instant noodles, canned milk, cakes... to trade unionists  and workers at companies that had to suspend operation, due to the impact of the pandemic ... with a total value of over VND400 million.

*Dang Thi Hoa in Phu Loi ward’s quarter 9 in Thu Dau Mot city: “In response to the call of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and provincial Party Committee Secretary, we understand that there is only consciousness of the people to win the fight against the pandemic. I and my family members have been more careful in living, traveling and working. Wearing masks as well as washing hands frequently with soap is better remembered. Normally, when there is no pandemic, hygienic assurance like at present is sometimes not done. For a long time, I have also restricted from going to the market even though I was given coupons for shopping every 3 days. For my family, I go to the market twice a month to limit going out in order to limit contact with outsiders."

*Nguyen Hoai Phuong, a worker living in Thu Dau Mot city’s Phu Cuong ward: “These days, we are self-isolating at the lodging facility because our company has given us a break to ensure Covid-19 prevention and control. Although it is very hot in the lodging room and our income is decreased, we are still ready to comply with regulations against the pandemic. We have also received some rice, instant noodles and other necessities from mass organizations and charity groups, so we also feel secure. Although food and drinks are not as full as usual, we limit ourselves to go shopping, minimizing the risk of Covid-19 infection. I just hope that the epidemic will pass quickly, so that everyone can go to work and stabilize their lives…”

*Le Thi Van, worker of Minh Anh Phat Paper Co. Ltd.: “Facing the complicated developments of the pandemic, the company has mobilized workers to live and work at the factory. Over the past 10 days, I was ordered to stay at the company for working to ensure the “3 on-site” principle. Although the number of employees staying at the company is not a lot, we are always aware of strict implementation of regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control. Here, we are tested for Covid-19 every 3 days, so we are quite reassuring. I hope that everyone needs to respond to the call of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the call of provincial leaders to overcome the pandemic together."
