Binh Duong supports workers away from home on Tet holiday

Practical activities to take care of young workers on occasion of the Tet 2023 have been actively and continuously carried out by Binh Duong Provincial Youth Union. Youth Union of districts, towns, and cities in the province have implemented plans and organized many Tet programs for young people living far from their hometown.

Tan Uyen Town Youth Union cooperated with Youth Union of Provincial Agencies - Enterprises’ Bloc to organize the program "Bus Helping Young Workers 2023” in Tan Hiep ward.

Simultaneously organized

Many programs, like "Tet meals", "Spring coach - Sharing love", "Helping workers returning home to celebrate Tet" etc., are key activities directed and implemented by the Provincial Youth Union's and their units.  Namely, the Provincial Youth Union assigned Ben Cat Town Youth Union to host a province-level Lunar New Year 2023 program.

The Provincial Youth Union also directed Provincial Supporting Center for Youth Workers to be in charge and coordinate with Youth Union of Provincial Agencies - Enterprises’ Bloc to organize market days, stalls selling necessities at original prices and "zero Dong" stalls at the Tet 2023 program, and actively organize programs to take care of young workers during the Lunar New Year.

Provincial Youth Union selected one or two units of Di An Youth Union, Thuan An Youth Union, Thu Dau Mot Youth Union, Tan Uyen Town Union, Ben Cat Town Union, and Youth Union of Provincial Agencies - Enterprises’ Bloc to visit and give Tet gifts.

On the other hand, these young units actively joined hands with relevant branches, industrial parks, and enterprises in their locality to hold at least two district-level Tet supporting activities for youth union members, and young workers to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

In addition, Youth Unions directed youth branches at lodging houses, youth associations to organize Tet activities for workers, such as cooking rice cakes, preparing Tet meals, cultural exchanges, and New Year's Eve celebrations. These activities have given a national Tet atmosphere for workers those are unable to return to their hometown to celebrate Tet with their families.

Spring of love

As one of the units with a large number of young workers, Tan Uyen Town has set up programs to take care of this group during the Lunar New Year 2023. Tran Thien Loc, Secretary of Tan Uyen Town Youth Union, said: "The town Youth Union organized a program named "Spring coach - Sharing love" to lodging houses to give gifts to workers, who have harsh circumstances and cannot return to their hometown to celebrate Tet, in Khanh Binh ward, Uyen Hung ward and Tan Hiep ward.

The town Youth Union directed grassroots unions at the wards to hold a program "Tet meals - Sharing love" at lodging houses and young workers’ union branches in the area. Each ward organized the program at one lodging houses at least, presented gifts of necessities and lucky money in order to help young workers at lodging houses to celebrate Tet more joyfully. In addition, the grassroots youth unions mobilized local lodging houses’ owners and business owners to jointly support disadvantaged young workers by offering housing rent exemption and reduction, Tet gifts, bus tickets to workers”.

On the 25th, 26th and 27th of lunar December, Tan Uyen Town also organized a volunteer team to assist a program "Helping young workers to return home to celebrate Tet". Youth volunteer squads were on duty at inter-provincial posts, gave gifts and drinks to workers returning to their hometown.

Currently, youth units have been increasing the socialization of programs to take care of workers’ lives who are far away from home and cannot return to their hometown on Tet holiday. In Di An City, the city Youth Union will organize a "Weekend Playground" - Tet 2023 with folk games and street art performances.

When the New Year comes, Youth Unions of wards in Di An city will hold a musical night to celebrate the Party - celebrate the spring, give gifts to disadvantaged workers, who cannot return to their hometown to celebrate Tet, and mobilize lodging houses’ owners to organize "Tet meals" program at youth union branches. 

During this Tet, the city Youth Union directed 7 ward Youth Unions to continue organizing exciting activities, "Tet’s meals" at lodging house’s youth branches to create a happy Tet atmosphere and improve mental health of workers who cannot afford to return to their hometown for Tet family reunion, help workers feel the new year with lots of joy in their second hometown Binh Duong.

North Tan Uyen district Youth Union is urgently preparing a Tet program for workers. Do Ngoc Loi, Youth Union Secretary of North Tan Uyen District, said: "In order to take care of workers away from home, the District Youth Union organized a "Tet meals” program to encourage workers at young workers, and Tet decoration contest, gift giving, and cultural exchanges in Tan Binh town and Dat Cuoc commune.

The district Youth Union will also deliver this program to KSB Industrial Park, Dat Cuoc commune. In this program, there are many activities for workers, such as legal dissemination, Tet decoration contest, five-fruit tray display, verse decoration, jam making, rice cake wrapping, New Year's calligraphy, spring dance contest... All activities are aimed at serving workers’ mental health on occasion of Tet holiday".
