Determined to protect anti-pandemic results

Update: 06-07-2022 | 11:54:11

In the first 6 months of 2022, Binh Duong recorded a sharp decrease in the number of Covid-19 infections and the number of severe cases. This shows that the province is still controlling the pandemic well. Currently, vaccination against Covid-19 is enhanced with 3 and 4 doses at all ages, especially children and workers to create a "shield" to protect the community, creating a safe and stable environment for enterprises and people to recover production and business activities has been drastically implemented by the province.

Further controlling pandemic well

Doctor Huynh Minh Chin, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Health said that from the beginning of the year to July 4, the province recorded 93,055 Covid-19 cases, including 12 cases of Omicron variant infection. Among the 12 cases, there were 4 foreign experts and 8 cases recorded in the community. “Over the past 30 days, the number of newly infected cases was 32, down 91.5% compared to the previous month. In particular, in the last 7 days, the whole province recorded only 12 new cases and no severe case. The province had 101 cases cured, mostly at home, with no deaths", said doctor Chin.

Provincial health sector continues focusing on giving Covid-19 vaccine booster to people

According to provincial Department of Health, up to now, the province has recorded 383,726 Covid-19 cases and 3,475 deaths, accounting for 0.9% of infections. Currently, all 91 communes, wards and towns in the province are assessed as being at level at 1 (normal level). The Covid-19 wave is increasing in some countries. In particular, the "stealth" Omicron sub-lineage BA.2 has become the dominant global variant, accounting for nearly 94% of the gene sequencing samples. The World Health Organization (WHO) has been tracing Omicron sub-lineages BA.1, BA.2, B.A.1.1 and BA.3. Along with that, two new sub-variants, BA.4 and BA.5 are attracting the attention of medical experts because the genetic mutations of the virus can evade the immune barrier against infection like vaccines or in people who got Covid-19. According to leader of provincial health sector, although the pandemic situation across the country in general and Binh Duong province in particular is currently being well controlled with the number of new cases, severe cases and deaths falling sharply, but we should not be subjective and neglectful in pandemic prevention and control.

According to the health sector’s recommendations, in the current flexible adaptation conditions, related to pandemic prevention measures in the new period, the most important thing is still the sense of self-defense among people. They are encouraged to protect themselves by further wearing masks and disinfecting hands frequently. Particularly, subjects such as the elderly who have not been vaccinated, the elderly with underlying diseases, children and those who have not got the pandemic with underlying diseases ... are still recommended to limit gatherings in large numbers because when being infected, they can face the serious development of the pandemic.

The Covid-19 vaccine is considered as a "shield" to protect people and the community against the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic.
