Di An City solves difficulties, helps businesses to resume production

Immediately after the Covid-19 outbreak was controlled, with the drastic and comprehensive implementation of policies and solutions to support businesses and the initiative of enterprises, production and business activities in the city have been gradually stabilized.

To boost production at the year-end

With the view that drastic disease prevention control to be carried out by "making the most of time, making the most of resources; accelerate vaccination; ensuring the good implementation of social policies for the people", the entire political system of Di An city has been most focused on disease prevention and control under directions of the Central Government, the province and in accordance with the actual condition of the city. As a result, up to this time, although some socio-economic indicators have decreased compared to first months of the year and the same period last year, the results achieved in October have shown optimistic signs.

Accordingly, in October, industrial production value was estimated at 11,567 billion VND, accumulated amount over 10 months was estimated at 93,885 billion VND, equaling 81.06% of the year plan and increasing by 7.5% over the same period in 2020. The city continues to monitor and instruct businesses outside industrial parks to register for operation under the "three-on-site", "one-road, two-destinations" and "three-green" production options. Up to now, about 150 firms with more than 10,000 workers have resumed operations. Many enterprises in Di An city have encouraged workers to participate in production, reaching 80-90% of capacity compared to the period before the fourth Covid-19 wave. Most manufacturing firms have made great efforts to implement measures to ensure health safety and disease prevention and control, speed up production and business in order to increase sales, create jobs for employees, retain customers, and focus on digital transformation, strengthen business on e-commerce platforms...

The implementation of growth targets in the remaining three months of 2021 mainly depends on the recovery of production and business activities. Currently, businesses in the city are urgently mobilizing workers, proposing adaptation solutions, and making efforts to boost production to complete tasks and plans set out for the whole year. In addition, all government levels and branches of the city always assist and solve difficulties in terms of mechanisms and policies to help enterprises in realizing "dual goal".

Vo Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Di An City People's Committee, said that up to now, manufacturing firms in the city have basically restored production, and have reached 90% capacity. Despite difficulties in the cost of raw materials and labor, businesses are trying to boost production to increase sales, create jobs and stable income for employees. This result also shows that solutions to support production and business recovery in the province and in Di An city have really been effective. According to the forecast, if the Covid-19 continues to be well controlled, the city's industrial production in the last two months 2021 would certainly achieve a high growth rate, making a positive contribution to the city's overall growth this year.

To create favorable conditions for businesses

Recently, at a recent meeting with businesses in the area, representatives of many firms proposed supportive solutions related to the conditions for resume manufacture, such as vaccination, testing, labor shortage, tax exemption and reduction, land rent, connection and access to preferential loans, allowing businesses to be more proactive in building solutions to prevent and control disease...

To be ready for effective production and disease prevention and control in the "new normal" state, Le Van Hoang, Director of Green Speed Company in Dong Hoa ward (Di An city), said that time of the pandemic control would determine the stability of labor, the process of business operation recovery and bringing the province back to development. To adapt safely and flexibly, right now, the business community wishes to quickly receive the second doses of vaccine for workers.

As a plan for Di An City to support the business community in soon resuming production activities, Nguyen Thanh Thien, Head of Customs Branch of Song Than Industrial Park, suggested that Di An City soon established an inter-branch hotline to grasp situation and coordinate to quickly handle problems of the business community. In their professional field, the customs authority always creates maximum convenience for businesses by many practical activities, such as digitalizing almost all procedures, interactions, and processing documents 24/7 via the Internet, assist businesses in late submission of customs declaration dossier, quickly handling import and export problems.

According to Tuan, until the end of the year, it is forecasted that there would be many difficulties, but with early identification and efficient utilization, we could create a strong impetus for the city to accelerate economic development. In particular, the first important condition is to continue implementing disease prevention and control with flexible directing and operating measures, guarantee a safe area serving economic development.
