Digital transformation – the driving force of creativity and foundation of modern economy

In the morning of April 27, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the National Committee on Digital Transformation, chaired the second online meeting to evaluate the implementation results in the first quarter of 2022 and identify key tasks and solutions to focus on implementing in the coming time. At Binh Duong connection point, Mr. Nguyen Van Danh, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee chaired the conference.

According to a report of the Ministry of Information and Communications – the standing agency of the National Committee on Digital Transformation, the contribution of the digital economy to Vietnam's economy is increasing as it is estimated that digital economic revenue in the first quarter of 2022 will gain about USD 53 billion. In which, the platform digital economy has a growth rate of 28%, gaining USD 8 billion of revenue, the rest is the ICT digital economy and the industry digital economy with an average revenue growth rate of about 15%.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the task of the National Committee on Digital Transformation is very hard, so it is necessary to focus on directing and organizing the implementation of guidelines, mechanisms, and policies to promote the process of national digital transformation closely linked with administrative reforms. Digital transformation is a driving force for innovation - the foundation for a modern economy.

The Prime Minister also noted a number of tasks to focus on in the coming time such as reviewing, amending, supplementing and perfecting the digital institution, developing digital transformation infrastructure, applying digital technology, vigorously mobilizing resources through the promotion of public-private cooperation, regularly inspecting and supervising to promote work, prevent and combat corruption, negativity, group interests, waste etc. In the context of limited time and resources, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to change perceptions awareness, the importance of digital transformation associated with the development goals of the country in line with the actual practice. Digital transformation must be associated with innovation and development of science and technologies. At the same time, the investment in digital transformation must be focused as it is necessary to choose things that have a spillover effect and effective right away for implementation.
