Export highlight

Update: 29-11-2021 | 11:24:43

The complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic have affected many industries and fields, leading to a number of the province’s socio-economic targets for 2021 that may not meet expectations. However, thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions, the province’s export growth is showing positive signs. This is achieved thanks to province-based enterprises that have taken advantage of the "golden opportunity" right after the return to the "new normal" months to compensate for losses in export during the period affected by the pandemic. The time from now to year-end is not much, but enterprises expect to meet and exceed the set export targets.

Binh Duong is a locality with contributions to the export target of the whole country with many key commodities such as wood and wood products, textiles, footwear, electronic components, etc. During the period of the complicated developments of the pandemic, along with others enterprises, those producing key export products in the province must also temporarily suspend operations for pandemic prevention and control. Some tried to find all solutions to maintain production during the period. But, there were few enterprises continuing their production during this period, due to high costs and difficulty in controlling the pandemic situation, along with export growth that did not meet expectations.

In order to keep export growth momentum, enterprises have accelerated production to compensate for losses during the period affected by Covid-19 pandemic after the pandemic is under control. Within just one month (October, 2021), after production stabilized, the province's export turnover increased by 19.9% compared to the previous month and reached US$27.7 million, bringing the province’s total export turnover over the past 10 months to US$ 27.7million, up 19.3% over the same period last year. The result came from the integral efforts by units, departments and localities and business community in the province. Noticeably, provincial leaders quickly found solutions to remove difficulties, helping enterprises stabilize production. In addition to efforts to resume production, enterprises also made the most of the sharing of partners and market opportunities while the pandemic still affected many countries supplying the same products.

In the last months of 2021, the demand for goods to meet the year’s great holidays in many countries around the world increases, along with special incentives on tariffs from trade agreements signed by Vietnam will continue creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese products to the world market. The majority of workers of enterprises in the province have also been vaccinated with 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccine. This will be an important premise for enterprises to continue stabilizing production to accelerate export growth.

Assessing about the export situation, experts believe that during the period of advantages and challenges intertwining, enterprises that perform well in Covid-19 prevention-control and know how to take advantage of market opportunities will win.
