Hanoi sees large number of travellers on holiday

Travel agencies in Hanoi reported a surge in travel demand on the upcoming national holiday that begins at the end of this month.

Vietravel Hanoi said bookings of its tours have risen by between 150-300 percent depending on destinations. Other big companies such as Vietnam Tourism Company-Hanoi, Hanoi Tourism Travel and Vietran Tour also saw more customers compared to the same period last year.

The companies attributed the rise to the long holiday, which begins on April 30 (the Liberation Day) and lasts until May 4, as well as stable prices of tour packages.

In particular, Myanmar, Cambodia and the Republic of Korea have emerged as popular destinations for Hanoians, besides traditional outbound ones such as Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and China.
