Labor market after Tet: Measures to absorb laborers

According to provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, as of Jan.31, 2012, most of province-based businesses resumed operations and there were around 86% of laborers returning work after the Tet holiday. Particularly, businesses outside industrial parks (IPs) lured 85%-100% of their laborers getting back to work; those inside VSIPs with 90% and those inside IPs with 80%.

 

Binh Duong is now home to more than 700,000 laborers, more than 70% of whom are immigrant ones. As recorded, immigrant laborers at province-based businesses have returned to work after the Tet holiday.

 

Nearly 300 workers of Nam Kim Steel Joint Stock Co. (Nakisco), on Jan.30, returned work after the Tet holiday. After 8 years of development, Nakisco has affirmed its trademark and has always taken good care of workers’ lives via incentive policies, helping it have a stable workforce.

 

Pham Trung, General Director of Nakisco said that the company’s top priority task is to complete the 2nd factory in the Dong An 2 Industrial Park as scheduled in order to achieve the target of gaining VND10trillion in revenue and capacity of 400,000 tons of various products by 2015. On Feb.1, Nam Binh Shoes Co.Ltd. draw more than 300 workers to return work after the Tet holiday. Company directorate also met workers and gave them lucky money of VND50,000 per person as a move to encourage them.

 

To have 100% of laborers returning to work after the Tet holiday, Nam Binh Shoes Co.Ltd. has over time paid more attention to laborers’ lives with many social welfare policies well realized.
