Local first business wins Global Gap certification

U&I Farm JSC (Unifarm) is the province’s first business granted a certificate for Good Agricultural Practice – Global GAP by Centre for Quality Certification (Quacert).

The certification is to recognize clean vegetable planting in glasshouse run automatically by computers. Recognized products include hi-class vegetables such as bell pepper, tomato, eggplant, asparagus… planted at Phu Giao district-based 412ha, VND330bil An Thai hi-agriculture area invested by Unifarm.

The result is thanks to Unifarm’s efforts in bounding for sustainable agriculture. After nearly one year of launching the project, Unifarm has initially reached remarkable achievements.

According to Quacert, Unifarm has so far been the first provincial business winning the Global Gap that can approach international market.

Unifarm vice general director Unifarm Pham Quoc Liem, said Unifarm would invest in research of variety and new technology, expand farm area in parallel with market development so as to gradually bring Unifarm’s products to int’l market.
