Accordingly, the two sides agreed that their training target for 2022 is 135 specialists, including 115 level-1 specialists in internal medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and the remainder being level-2 specialists in health management. It is expected that provincial Department of Health will receive enrollment applications from mid-June 2022 after receiving approval from provincial People's Committee.

Doctor Huynh Minh Chin, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Health said: To achieve the ratio of 10 doctors per 10,000 people under the Ministry of Health’s Decision No.816/QD-BYT dated March 16, Binh Duong needs additional 600 doctors in both public and non-public medical systems. Every year, the province needs to add 100 more doctors at the demand for mechanical population increasing 100,000 - 150,000 people per year. In particular, the province lacks 593 regular members for the titles of doctors, nurses and midwives, including 549 at grassroots level and 44 at provincial level.

Every year, provincial Department of Health sends 202 candidates to training courses, but only 30 doctors complete graduation per year. Postgraduate training is also difficult.  The annual admission rate is low with the average level of 20-25 doctors per year...
