Since being recognized as a third-class city in 2017, Di An City has focused on mobilizing many resources for socio-economic development, infrastructure construction and urban rejuvenation. Up to now, after 5 years of construction efforts, the city’s economic growth has been fast with infrastructure strengthened. The local urban image has many improvements with people’s material and spiritual lives constantly raised…

Based on the criteria specified in the National Assembly Standing Committee’s Resolution No. 1210 dated May 25, 2016 on urban classification, Di An city currently reaches all 5 criteria, including: Location, function, role, structure and level of socio-economic development; population size; population density; the rate of non-agricultural workers; the level of infrastructure development and urban architecture and landscape, with 91.22 out of 100 points. Therefore, Di An city has met the criteria for recognition as a second-class city under the province.

At the working session, the delegation appraised the dossier and legal basis of the proposal to recognize Di An city as a second-class city. The city was also requested to clarify some contents related to such criteria as natural population growth rate; environmental sanitation; population density index; labor, infrastructure; cultural works; sports centers… at the needs of the local development. The city should further complete the dossier at the request of the delegation, preparing to submit it to the ministerial-level council for official appraisal in the coming time.
