Provincial industry takes advantage of opportunities, continues to grow

Over the first two months of the year, Binh Duong continued to implement a safe, flexible adaptation plan, the province's economy has clearly flourished. With the efforts and initiative of enterprises, industrial production sectors maintained its growth, contributed to the socio-economic results of the province, especially creating jobs and stable incomes for workers.

Positive movement

From the beginning of 2022, Binh Duong effectively implemented Covid-19 prevention and control solutions, continued to improve the investment environment, improve competitiveness and increase support for the development of enterprises through the upgrade of socio-economic infrastructure system. The province continues to direct all administration levels, sectors, localities and people in the province to raise their awareness of disease prevention and control, continue to guarantee both pandemic prevention control and socio-economic development, promptly have plans to help businesses overcome labor shortages after Tet, help workers return to workplace.

In February 2022, industrial production activities made improvements, enterprises were active in their raw material sources, signed many export orders, developed manufacturing, created abundant product volumes to serve domestic consumption and export demand. Many of the province's key manufacturing industries, such as wood processing and wood products, machinery, footwear, textiles, have an increase in the number of new export orders, enterprises recruited large numbers of worker. This is a good signal contributing to stimulating industrial production activities in the province.

According to Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, after the Government issued Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP, Binh Duong has developed and implemented a plan to adapt safely, flexibly and effectively control the Covid-19, so that the province's industrial production has quickly regained its growth momentum. With many specific solutions, the province strives to solve difficulties for enterprises, look for new export markets; strengthen trade promotion activities, implement joint program between Binh Duong and provinces, cities throughout the country in processing and manufacturing industries, especially auxiliary products... and has gained very good results. It is estimated that the general manufacturing index over the first two months of 2022 increased by 6.1% over the same period last year. In particular, the processing industry index increased by 6.2%; production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning increased by 2.7%; water supply, waste management and treatment increased by 11.3%...

Flexibility, good use of opportunities

After achieving high sales in the fourth quarter of 2021 and January 2022, Ton Dong A Company continued to expand its market share, make good use of opportunities. Ho Song Ngoc, Director of Ton Dong A Company, said that in 2021, despite the pandemic, the company had not stopped any production and business activities; thanks to making good use of opportunities, flexibility to transform the market from domestic to export, their export output for the whole year increased by 136% over the same period last year, revenue in 2021 reached more than VND 25,200 billion (157% compared to target). In 2022, the company plans to produce 820,000 tons, of which 50% of the output is sold in the domestic market and 50% is for export.

Le Thi Xuyen, CEO of Thuan An Wood Processing Joint Stock Company, said that Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP created great motivation for businesses. If in the third quarter of 2021, many companies suffered labor shortage, did not ensure the delivery schedule; in the fourth quarter of 2021 and the first months of 2022,  although the production and business activities of wood processing industry was still facing many difficulties, the situation has improved rapidly. Especially the number of workers, who have returned to work, reached a very high rate. This is one of the important factors contributing to help the company recover business production and achieve good results.

Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of Department of Industry and Trade, said that the Covid-19 caused the price of input materials to be on a rise, the consumption market was shrinking, the supply chain of many key industries and products was disrupted. However, in the first two months of the year, most key industries had an increase in production index, the most impressive of which was that the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 6.2% compared to 2021, contributing to the overall growth of the economy.

In 2022, in addition to actively regaining the growth momentum of industries and sectors deeply affected by the pandemic, Binh Duong province determines to develop the industry into a driving force. In particular, the province strives to  increase industrial production index (IIP) by 8.9%. In order to achieve the set objectives, Department of Industry and Trade actively removes difficulties, facilitates all stages in the process of investment, production and business, help enterprises recover production, contributing to stimulating economic growth of the province.
