Provincial press agencies proactive to propagandize, creating social consensus

Following the 96-year tradition of the Vietnamese revolutionary press, province-based press agencies have constantly strived and promoted their crucial role on the ideological and cultural front. They have excelled at propagandizing the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, the leadership of the local Party Committee and government.

Creating social consensus

Over the past time, Binh Duong Newspaper, Binh Duong Radio and Television Station, provincial e-portal and radio system in the province actively reflected all aspects of international, national and provincial politics, economy and social life. Prominently, they focused on propagandizing achievements in implementation of the Resolution of the 10th provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress. Along with that, they also made strong propaganda about the success of the 11th provincial Party Congress, the 13th National Party Congress, and the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021- 2026 tenure in the province; were proactive to disseminate and encourage patriotic emulation activities, safe production, effective Covid-19 prevention and control.

Visiting and congratulating Binh Duong Newspaper, Binh Duong Radio and Television Station on the occasion of the 96^th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, Truong Thi Bich Hanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Commission for Propaganda and Education acknowledged important contributions by press agencies to the local socio-economic development. They focused on propagandizing current affairs, urgent and important tasks of the province. They actively introduced new, typical factors, good models, creative ways; praised the examples of “good people and good deeds” in association with further make acceleration of “studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and stylelife”, creating a high consensus in the society. They also actively participated in the fight against corruption, wastefulness, negativity, and signs of degradation in politics, morality and lifestyle; and in the fight against falsehoods, protecting national sovereignty, ideological foundation of the Party, contributing to creating unity of thought and action among cadres, Party members and consensus among people from all strata and the business community.

Maintaining crucial role in propanganda

In the era of information explosion with strong development in social networks, province-based press agencies are also under great impacts, pressures and challenges. In order to maintain their crucial role, meeting requirements of information in the new context, they need to make vigorous changes. Talking about future steps, Lam Phi Hung, Director of provincial Radio and Television Station, said: “Currently, the station is implementing its job placement project and setting up a project on development in the period of 2021-2025 with a vision to 2030, which is as a basis for implementation in the near future, meeting the increasing requirements of propaganda work in the new context. Of these, there is a plan developing OTT services, putting all the station’s programs on different platforms such as cable TV and internet.

Meanwhile, Binh Duong Newspaper is actively promoting its online newspapers and television, putting them on social networking and internet platforms to promptly disseminate the Party's guidelines, the State’s policies, the local outstanding socio-economic activities to readers, listeners and viewers. Le Minh Tung, Editor-in-Chief of Binh Duong Newspaper, said that over the past time, the newspaper was proactive to improve its propaganda contents and forms towards integrating multimedia while ensuring accuracy and promptness to attract more readers, viewers and listeners. The newspaper maintained its leading role with orthodoxy in information, ensuring the principles and purposes of the local Party newspaper, deserving to be the organ of provincial Party Committee, the voice of the Party, government and people of the province. Specifically, Binh Duong Newspaper in the first 6 months of 2021 continued excelling at propagandizing the Party's guidelines, the State’s policies and laws, the local socio-economic development, especially the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure; effectively disseminated solutions against Covid-19 pandemic in the province so that people from all strata and the business community join hands in fighting Covid-19 pandemic...

Mrs. Hanh said that in the 4.0 era with explosion of information, in addition to giving orientations for press agencies, provincial Party Committee's Commission for Propaganda and Education wants journalists in the province to improve their political stance, have operational methods and solutions in new conditions; be proactive and active in giving information. Province-based press agencies must have constant innovation to further promote their leading role in information orientation. They need to further uphold their crucial role in propaganda work against false and hostile views, protecting the ideological foundation of the Party, national sovereignty, outstanding achievements done by the province, creating a high consensus among people from all stratas, contributing to the local sustainable development.
