Early March 11, provincial People's Committee in collaboration with Becamex IDC held a scientific workshop with the presentation of the Southern Institute of Construction Planning and experts to have strategic orientations for planning of Binh Duong for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050 at provincial Integrated Administration Center...
The event was attended by Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Pham Ngoc Thuan, CEO of Becamex IDC together with leaders of Becamex IDC, departments and agencies in the province.
At the workshop, experts discussed planning issues such as planning of Binh Duong province in the context of development of HCM city; planning on land use, upholding land resources in Binh Duong province; development for sustainable connectivity and smart city of Binh Duong; requirements on content, process and progress when setting up a master plan of Binh Duong province under the Law on Planning.
Representative of the Southern Institute of Construction Planning proposed the province to set up a multi-polar centralized development model, a multi-center structure as the key principle, in which development poles connect the central urban area, thanks to the transport system connected with HCM city; restructure industrial parks towards high-tech development in association with re-investment in fostering high-quality urban areas; gather and increase the density of informal settlement estates, not allowing them to expand.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai from Ho Chi Minh city University of Economics proposed a core policy for developing ecological high-tech auxiliary industrial parks. Whilst, Dr. Trinh Tu Anh, Head of the Institute of Smart City and Management said that Binh Duong needs a new-style ecosystem, in which high-quality human resources are seen as a driving force for the development of the local strong fields to promote digital transformation and innovation…Mr.Thuan also said: “The planning must be feasible to create resources for the province to develop. In each period, the province has implemented the planning and created the momentum for development, outlined the strategic directions, visions of leaders in each period with steps taken to achieve the current results as well as the local development trends in the new period”.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr.Dung thanked experts, scientists and delegates for their contributive ideas during the workshop. He also emphasized the meaning and importance of provincial strategic planning for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 while wanting to further receive the opinions of scientists and experts in the coming time.
