Sharing with flood victims in Gia Lai province

On November 24th, the relief group of Binh Duong province led by provincial Fatherland Front Committee’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Tan Loc, visited and shared difficulties with Dak Po district of Gia Lai province’s compatriots badly affected by the Storm 15. The delegation came to Phu An commune of Dak Po district to present gifts to people here for difficulty overcoming and relocation. Mr. Nguyen Tan Loc (second, right) gave VND200mln to affected people in Gia Lai province After surmounting many zigzag sloping paths, Binh Duong province’s relief group arrived finally at Phu An commune, Dak Po district, Gia Lai province to share difficulties with compatriots affected by the Storm 15. On this occasion, the delegation donated VND200mln to Gia Lai province. All the money and gifts were given directly to affected people in Dak Po district by the provincial delegation and Gia Lai province’s Fatherland Front Committee. Mr. Vo Van Thanh living at An Quy hamlet, Phu An commune, Dak Po district said, people here were severely damaged by the recent flood. Within 30 minutes on November 14th, water from Ba River flowed into residential areas, causing many property losses. Mr. Thanh’s house was inundated in over 1m of water, his fishpond and cattle were also swept away by the floodwater. Mr. Thanh said: “In many years, this area has never been deluged like this year. The flood came so quickly so that we could not do anything. People’s houses were inundated, and severely, all properties, fishpond, cattle were destroyed”. When Binh Duong delegation gave gifts to people here, they were so happy. Although each gift was not too valuable, it could relieve partly people’s losses. On behalf of Binh Duong province relief group, Mr. Nguyen Tan Loc said: “These supports express the sharing of Binh Duong province’s Party, government and people with affected residents. After knowing about heavy losses of Gia Lai province’s compatriots, we were sorrowful, especially when the flood left missing of two teachers being on their way to school”. Chairman of Phu An commune’s People’s Committee Mr. Le Van Mai showed their gratefulness to the hear of all Binh Duong province’s Party, government and people. This sharing would help residents of Phu An’s commune to reduce difficulties. Gia Lai province Fatherland Front Committee’s Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Nuoi, on behalf of Gia Lai province, expressed their gratitude to Binh Duong province. The timely physical and spiritual relief from Binh Duong province will help affected families easing the pain, stabilizing early their life. “The sincere sharing of Binh Duong province with Gia Lai’s people touched us – officials proving relief – deeply. Once again, we would like to thank the Party, government, people of Binh Duong province particularly , and the whole country’s people generally for joining hands to share difficulties with us”, said Mr. Nuoi. According to Mr. Nuoi, because the influence of the Storm 15, from November 14th to 17th, heavy rain and flood discharge of hydropower reservoirs in Gia Lai province, caused serious flooding and human, property losses. According to preliminary statistics, there have been 2 fatalities, 455 inundated houses, over swamped 1,300ha of crops, destroyed hundreds of cattle.
