The Vietnam U23 national men’s team are scheduled to play Myanmar in a friendly match on June 7, as announced by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
The team will meet up in Hanoi on June 2 to conduct their preparations for the match, although details regarding the time and location have yet to be officially announced by the VFF.
The U23 friendly coincides with the full Vietnamese national team competing at the King’s Cup in Thailand between June 5 and 8.
As a result, many of the team’s stars including Nguyen Quang Hai, Doan Van Hau, and Ha Duc Chinh are likely to be absent from the U23 team due to their commitments to the full national team.
The VFF says that both the Vietnam U23s and Vietnamese national team will practice together throughout 2019 in preparation for the 2020 AFC U23 Championship finals, the 2022 World Cup qualifying round, and the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 30) which will be held in the Philippines this November.
