The total number of foreign visitors to Vietnam in the first three months of this year has been estimated at over two millions, a drop of 13.7% compared to the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office.
Vietnam has welcomed over two million foreign visitors in the first quarter.
The figure includes 1.7 million visitors to Vietnam by air, 18,058 who travelled by sea, and 289,346 entering by road.
The tourism sector saw an increase of visitors from key tourist markets in the first quarter including a 31.4% increase in visitors from the Republic of Korea (RoK), 28.2% from Thailand, 10.8% from Spain, 7.1% from Singapore, 6% from Italy and 2.9% increase from the United States.
Meanwhile, 19.5 million domestic tourists traveled around Vietnam during the same period
The tourism sectors total revenue hit over VND96 trillion, a year-on-year rise of 1.9%.
