“Earth Hour 2023” campaign launched

On the evening of March 19, provincial Youth Union held a ceremony in response to the “Earth Hour 2023” campaign at AEON Mall in Thuan An city. It is known that Vietnam has started participating in the Earth Hour campaign since March 19, 2008.

Over the past years, the province responded to the annual campaign by many diverse and creative activities, including propagandizing and mobilizing people to turn off  their motorbikes’ engines for 25 seconds or more during the time of red light stop at key intersections and crossroads; establishing youth volunteer cycling squads to respond to the Earth Hour campaign on main streets; distributing propaganda leaflets on environmental protection, reducing plastic waste and mobilizing people to litter in the right places; turning off electrical appliances if unnecessary at lodging facilities, in densely populated residential and social housing areas…

This year, the province’s relevant sector will propagandize and mobilize agencies, enterprises, production-business establishments and households to respond to the Earth Hour by turning off lights and unnecessary electrical equipment during the period from 20:30 to 21:30 on March 25.
