Strengthening environmental protection and digital transformation in new-style rural construction

Early October 6, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MoARD) coordinated with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) to organize a teleconference to implement the national program on strengthening environmental protection and food safety, rural clean water supply and program on digital transformation in new-style rural construction. In Binh Duong, Pham Van Bong, Director of provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and members of provincial Steering Committee for the National Target Program attended the teleconference.

The conference implemented the Decision 925/QD-TTg dated August 2, 2022 on approving the program strengthening environmental protection and food safety, rural clean water supply in new-style rural construction for the period of 2021-2025 and the Decision No.924/QDTTg dated August 2, 2022 on approving the digital transformation program in new-style rural construction towards a smart city for the period of 2021-2025. Accordingly, the goal is to strive that by 2025, at least 55% of the rural population will have sustainable access to standard clean water with a minimum amount of 60 liters per person per day. There will be at least 50% of rural households implementing waste classification solutions at source; 80% of domestic solid waste collected and treated. Each province and city under the central management will deploy 1-2 models of domestic waste treatment at the district level or higher with appropriate technology...Regarding the digital transformation program in new-style rural construction towards smart new-style rural areas for the period of 2021-2025, there will be at least 40% of commune/district- level units providing at least one essential service...
