To actively prevent flooding due to high tide, heavy rain combined with Dau Tieng reservoir’s water releasing

According to Provincial Center of Hydro-Meteorological forecasting, as typhoon Noru is active on the sea area from Quang Tri - Quang Ngai, there will be showers and scattered thunderstorms in Binh Duong province, some places will have heavy rain. During thunderstorms, people need to watch out for the possibility of tornadoes, lightning and gusts; high tide on Saigon River will peak on September 27 and 28, the highest daily high tide level will appear in morning from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., in evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and potentially at 1.60m - 1.65m, 0.05m higher than warning level 3 at Thu Dau Mot station - Ba Lua port; Dau Tieng reservoir is expected to end its water releasing at 7 a.m. on September 27.

In order to proactively prevent inundation due to the influence of high tide, heavy rain combined with Dau Tieng reservoir’s water releasing possibly causing overflowing of banks, flooding of low-lying areas along Saigon River and urban areas, Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search Rescue asked districts, towns, cities, and Center for Investment and Exploitation of Irrigation - Rural Clean Water to organize personnel on duty to closely monitor, update warnings and forecasts about natural disasters, releasing of reservoir, prepare forces, materials and means to proactively respond and promptly handle incidents; promptly inform Commanding Committees of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search Rescue of communes, wards, townships, and people to proactively implement preventive measures to ensure safety of people, property and production. To seriously implement the plan to cope with inundation caused by high tides, water releasing, and heavy rains to have a disaster response plan according to disaster risk levels in the province.
