In the morning of October 20, Binh Duong provincial People's Committee had an online meeting with the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, departments, branches and local authorities in districts, towns and cities to report the results and situation of implementation of social security packages and shortcomings and obstacles in such implementation. Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.

According to the report of the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, as of October 19, the Department has coordinated with localities in the province to implement the policy of 3 main supporting packages for people facing difficulties during the time of isolation and prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic, which is Resolution No. 68 of the Prime Minister, Resolution No. 04 of the provincial People's Council and Decision No. 12 of the provincial People's Committee with the amount of more than VND 2,400 billion. In which, supporting payments has been made under Resolution No. 68 for 1,004,258 cases at an amount of VND 1,407.999 billion; to support Resolution No. 04 for 1,322,288 cases at the amount of VND 396.686 billion; to support Decision No. 12 for 1,279,311 cases at a total amount of VND 648,656 billion.

Listening to the presentation of the implementation of policy packages from the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs as well as districts, towns and cities, Mr. Vo Van Minh highly appreciated the implementation of the departments, branches and local authorities. “Although there are still some who have not received money from support packages in the area, the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has quickly coordinated with localities to review documents and quickly solve them for people in recent days. During the time of the peak epidemic in the area, the departments in the province has both tried their best to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic and implemented supporting packages for people, requiring a very large amount of work. The delay in policy settlement for those has both subjective and objective causes, but it must be quickly remedied, so as not to let people suffer," Mr. Minh said.

The Chairman of the provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, in the coming time, to well coordinate with the Trade Union at all levels and the Management Board of Industrial Parks to contact companies, enterprises and employees to speed up the registration of dossiers for employees according to the groups of policies under the Resolution No. 68, especially the group of employees who lose their jobs, stop working or suspended from labor contracts due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic. When the dossier is approved, it is necessary to speed up spending, not to let the employees wait. The Department of Health should coordinate with the districts, towns and cities to complete the application procedures for the subjects who are infecte4d laborers to be supported in the near future according to regulations.
