“All people unite to build a cultural lifestyle” movement makes great contributions to local development
In recent years, the movement of "All people unite to build a cultural lifestyle" in Thuan An city has not only received attention from Party Committees and local authorities at all levels, but has also spread widely within the community. The expansion of this movement has helped Thuan An achieve positive results, significantly contributing to the city's overall development.
Many effective Models
According to Le Minh Duc, Deputy Head of Thuan An city’s Division of Culture, Science and Information, in 2024, the movement has continuously received guidance and direction from Party Committees and authorities at both city and grassroots levels. The effective coordination between the city’s Fatherland Front Committee, departments and mass organizations has laid a solid foundation for public communication and mobilization efforts. “The movement of “All people unite to build a cultural lifestyle” not only focuses on economic development, but also pays close attention to crime prevention and the fight against social evils”, Mr. Duc shared.

One of the highlights of this movement is the emergence of exemplary models. Initiatives such as the "Flower-lined Streets by the Fatherland Front Committee", "Bringing Greenery Home", "Urban Civility Awareness Fans" and "Turning Garbage Dumps into Flower Gardens"…have helped raise community awareness and contributed to building up a clean, beautiful and civilized living environment.
Notably, pilot models such as "Trash-Free Quarters and Hamlets", "Civilized Urban Streets" and "Civilized Markets" have gained strong support from local residents. So far, Thuan An city has established 31 trash-free quarters and hamlets, with 8 of them maintaining this title for three consecutive years. Additionally, the city has one civilized market (Binh Chuan market) and 19 clean, green, clear, and safe canal routes.
In An Phu ward, the movement has been concretized into specific plans aiming to meet the standards of a civilized urban ward. According to Vo Huynh Long, Vice Chairman of An Phu ward’s People's Committee, the development of parks, gardens and civilized roads has enhanced the cultural life of local residents. In particular, the ward places great emphasis on public communication and legal education to raise people’s awareness of adhering to regulations on civilized lifestyles.
Similarly, Hung Dinh ward has also successfully implemented the model of "Promoting Cultural Practices in Weddings and Funerals" which has contributed to reducing wastefulness and maintaining public order and security. According to Ho Anh Thi, Vice Chairman of Hung Dinh ward’s People's Committee, this model has been carried out by the ward’s Movement Steering Committee over the past years, with Hung Phuoc quarter selected as the pilot area. In August 2024, Hung Dinh ward’s People’s Committee issued a decision to recognize the community regulations of three residential quarters in accordance with the Government’s Decree No. 61/2023/ND-CP dated August 16, 2023, on the development and implementation of conventions and regulations within residential communities.
Propaganda promoted
According to the assessment, along with results done, the movement of "All people unite to build a cultural lifestyle" in Thuan An city still has some problems for change Specifically, Thuan An city is a place where people from many different regions gather, with rich living habits, so the city’s propaganda and mobilization work to implement a civilized lifestyle, especially in weddings, funerals or festivals, still faces some obstacles. In addition, the removal of illegal advertising and environmental protection need to be further promoted...
According Nguyen Thi Hien, Vice Chairwoman of Thuan An city’s People's Committee, in the coming time, to enhance the effectiveness of the movement, the city must continue widely implementing it in association with the goals and tasks of the Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW of the 9th Conference of the 11th Central Party Committee. At the same time, particular attention should be paid to communication efforts in industrial parks, compounds and social housing areas to improve the cultural life of workers.
The city has also continued promoting the development of a civilized urban and cultural lifestyle, directing quarters and hamlets to organize activities such as the “Great National Solidarity Festival” to build a united, strong and sustainably developing community. “Looking back on the journey so far, we have every reason to be proud of our achievements. Although they may seem like small actions, they have played an important role in gradually transforming the city's appearance day by day. I hope that every citizen, every family, every organization and each locality will continue upholding and promoting the spirit of solidarity, responsibility and creativity. Let us build a civilized and happy community, contributing to a new phase of development for our homeland”, said Mrs. Hien.
It can be said that the movement of “All People Unite to Build a Cultural Lifestyle” in Thuan An city has left a significant mark, playing a vital role in the city's development. With the strong leadership of the local authorities at all levels and the enthusiastic participation of the people, the movement promises to continue thriving, laying a foundation for a civilized, modern and culturally rich Thuan An City.
