Upholding the voluntary spirit of youths in the Youth Month, promulgation on environmental hygiene and natural resources protection is also one of crucial and necessary deeds for youths. Binh Duong Youth Month 2010 with the ‘Green Sunday’ campaign held once a week has therefore left good impression on the community.

This year, the provincial Youth Month’s steering board, local Youth Union’s standing board steer their affiliates to conduct the ‘Green Sunday’ campaign synchronously and drastically by key activities of holding communication campaigns in combination with environmental protection (EP), building models of EP and among others.

Under the instruction, local youth unions at all levels have actively upheld their role with significant activities of making rural roads, collecting garbage along rivers, canals, calling upon the public not to drop litter, planting and taking care of green trees and so on.

Accordingly, local youth unions at all levels completed 86 youth works worth VND300mil, luring the participation of over 20,000 youths and unionists.

Implementing the program of river protection, the units dredged rivers and canals with a total length of 55km, cleaned roads with a total length of over 125km. In addition, the units mobilized the public to join in eliminating illegal ad boards and collecting garbage across streets and markets…

Some key youth works of cleaning martyrs’ cemeteries, dredging rivers and springs contributed to protect environment and build urban civilized lifestyle.

‘Green Sunday’ campaign under mass organization across province has gone in depth, effectively impacting on local youths and residents.
