“National Unification Day” held and “Digital Literacy for All” movement launched
On April 26, An Phu ward in Thuan An city organized the "Reunification Day" festival, launched the "Digital Literacy for All" movement and inaugurated the D1 street park in quarter 3, in attendance of Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda-Education and Mass Mobilization.
At the festival, delegates and local residents reviewed the heroic chapters of the nation's history, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification as well as the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Thu Dau Mot province-now Binh Duong province. On this occasion, the locality launched the "Digital Literacy for All" emulation movement, promoted campaigns against online scams and launched the model of “Civilized Urban Streets managed by the Vietnam Fatherland Front, with self-management by the people”.
Speaking at the festival, Mr. Nhan stated that by promoting the heroic tradition of the “tough-but-brave Eastern region”, in recent years, Binh Duong province has achieved significant accomplishments in economic and social development. Today's festival will continue launching the “Digital Literacy for all” movement. This movement is of great significance in building and developing a digital nation, digital government, digital society and digital citizens, contributing to the country's rapid, comprehensive and sustainable development in the future.
Mr. Nhan emphasized that reading and writing today are no longer limited to letters on paper, but involve reading data and writing the future with digital technology. Without quickly building a bridge to knowledge, parts of the population risk being left behind. Therefore, the "Digital Literacy for All" movement is a profoundly humane initiative aiming at "eradicating digital illiteracy among the people in the digital era" among people from all strata with the motto of "Visiting every alley, reaching every household, guiding each individual" and through action by "Expanding smart application deployment and connection”.
