1,000 disadvantaged people helped from "zero-dong" market
On the morning of January 9, Binh Duong provincial Red Cross coordinated with the Executive Committee and the Charity and Social Affairs Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province to organize a VND-0 Market to give Tet gifts to people in harsh circumstances. Attending the event was Mr. Nguyen Van Danh, Chairman of the provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee.
The market was held with 30 categories of essential goods and Tet goods donated by the Executive Committee, the Charity and Social Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province, pagodas, Buddhists, philanthropists and other sources mobilized by the provincial Red Cross.
Thanks to the contribution, 1,000 workers, the visually impaired and people in difficult circumstances in the province were helped with the market to choose practical items worth about 1 million VND a person.
