10 countries and territories register for international piano contest in Hanoi

This is one of activities to mark the capital’s millennial celebration and commemorate the 200th birthday of world-renowned Polish composer Frederic Chopin.

 

The contest aims to identify and support talented young classical musicians in Vietnam and around the globe.

 

The contestants, aged between 10 and 23, will play works by four world famous composers, namely Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Frederic Chopin and Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff.

 

The famous Vietnamese pianist Dang Thai Son will act as the competition’s Honorary Chairman and Artistic Director.
