100 outstanding collectives, individuals in “Exemplary veterans” emulation movement honored

The district’s Veterans Association over the past five years effectively implemented the emulation movement launched by the Central Committee of Vietnam Veterans Association. The local associations at all levels also visited 382 members with illness with a total expense of more than VND62mln; presented 211 gifts worth more than VND41mln to needy and old members on the annualTet festival; helped 315 members get more than VND4.75bln in loan for production and business; mobilized members to raise more than VND1.1bln for its fund. They also took part in movements launched by the local administration, especially excelled at implementing the national target program on new rural construction; actively mobilize members to get involved in environmental hygiene.

Over the past five years, the district’s Veterans Association admitted additional 119 members, lifting its total number of members up 870. The association also spared no efforts to improve the quality of its activities… On this occasion, the association honored 18 collectives and 82 individuals for their good performance in the emulation movement of “Exemplary veterans” in the 2009-2014 period.
