134 members of Phu Giao Veterans’ Society escape poverty

Over the past five years, Phu Giao district’s Veterans’ Society and its affiliates set and maintained 14 loan-rotating groups with more than VND3.6bln, helping 942 members.

The society also teamed up with the district’s branch of the Bank for Social Policies to disburse more than VND6.3bln in loan for 255 members; mobilized well-off members to provide needy ones with support in terms of capital, nurslings, breeding animals…valued at more than VND2.4bln. Thanks to the above efforts, the district’s Veterans’ Society over the past five years helped 134 members escape poverty. The number of the society’s well-off members with well-off and moderately good living standards has so far accounted for 89% of total and there are only 8 poor members under the province’s poverty line.
