14 clubs of “New women” set up

Early July 7, Phu Giao district’s Women’s Union held a conference to partially review its activities in the first half of 2015 and define orientations, tasks in the remaining 6 months of the year.

The district’s Women’s Union at all levels over the past 6 months effectively realized emulation movements and key tasks. Particularly, they organized 335 propaganda shows on the Party and State’s policies and laws for more than 34,000 women; brought into full play effective models following Uncle Ho’s virtue on thrift practice; implemented the Project 343 on “Education of Vietnamese women’s virtues in the national industrialization and modernization period”; set up 14 “New women” clubs with 353 members; built and handed over 1 house of compassion to a poor woman in An Binh commune.

The district’s Women’s Union also teamed up with Thanh Tam pagoda in An Binh commune to present 100 gifts worth VND20mln to poor members; maintained loans-rotating groups and saving ones with more than VND5.9bln, helping over 2,500 women get loans; promoted the movement of “Women helping each other in economic development” with 378 needy women helped by many forms with a total value of more than VND350mln; mobilized donors to assist 46 needy members and children with the month allowance of VND5mln each.

In the remaining 6 months of the year, the district’s Women’s Union at all levels will continue effectively carrying out key tasks, including replicating effective models, setting up 2 sub-unions for female workers in Phuoc Hoa and Vinh Hoa communes…

Also at the conference, the organizers reviewed the five-year implementation of the “Building the family with 5 Without-s and 3 Clean-s” campaign in the 2010 and 2015 period. 7 collectives and 12 individuals were awarded the certificates of merit of provincial Women’s Union and district’s Women’s Union for their excellent achievements to the campaign during the past five years.
