14th BTV singing contest for the elderly opens

A ceremony to open the 14^th Binh Duong Television (BTV) Singing Contest for the Elderly was organized at provincial Convention-Exhibition Center on the afternoon of September 26 in celebration of the 25^th anniversary of the International Day of the Elderly (October 1, 1991-October 1, 2016).

Beginning from September 26 to 30, this year’s contest has absorbed 18 art troupes of the elderly from Ninh Thuan, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, HCM city, Ca Mau, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh and Binh Duong.

The annual BTV Singing Contest for the Elderly contest has become a familiar playground for the elderly in southern provinces and cities. Coming to the contest, they have a chance to exchange in the warm and joyful atmosphere, showing the motto of “Living happily, living healthily and living usefully”. This is also a chance for young people to be proud of their forefathers and follow bright examples in national defense and construction.
