2,038 linked chain of produce production and sales available nationwide

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and on implementing the Government's Decree No. 98/2018/ND-CP on policies to encourage cooperative development linking produce production with consumption, since 2018, 2,038 linking chains in the whole country have bee formed with the participation of 1,250 agricultural cooperatives.

Accordingly, the decree stipulates that 7 types of chain linkages according to the stages from supplying materials and input services, organizing production and harvesting to preliminary processing or processing associated with consumption of agricultural products are available. However, the actual forms of chain linking organization are very diverse. According to statistics of the provinces and cities, currently 815 linkage chains from production - preliminary processing, processing - consumption of products are with 290 participating agricultural cooperatives; 770 chains of production - consumption of farm products are with 361 participating agricultural cooperatives; 367 processing linkage chains associated with product consumption are with 208 participating cooperatives.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, up to now, 60 out of 63 provinces and cities across the country have approved a list of important and key industries and products that need to be encouraged and prioritized to support the implementation of linkages. The provinces and cities have approved 933 projects and linkage plans. 28 out of 63 provinces and cities approved 579 linkage projects and 16 out of 63 provinces and cities approved 354 linkage supporting plans. The total cost of approved joint projects is VND 1,921 billion.
