Late July 12, provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the closing ceremony of the 2014 Southeastern Taekwondo Championship at provincial Sporting Event Hall.

This year’s tournament lured more than 150 athletes from 7 provinces and cities in the Southeastern region, comprising of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Tay Ninh, Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan with events: demonstration and combat.

The tournament kicked off on the morning of July 11. After the first day of competition, the organizers awarded medals in the demonstration event. On the afternoon of July 12, they continued awarding medals in the combat event.

Accordingly, first prize in the event of women’s combat went to Tay Ninh. It was followed by Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, respectively. For male team’s combat event, first prize belonged to Binh Duong. Binh Phuoc came second while Ba Ria-Vung Tau took third position.
