2023 Thuan An “Charming countryside” pageant honors the beauty of women in countryside

"Charming countryside" is a colorful cultural playground for women aged between 18 and 50 who are living and working in Thuan An city. With many new and unique features, this year's contest has contributed to creating a meaningful highlight in the series of activities at the 2023 "Lai Thieu in ripe fruit season" festival.

Promoting the beauty of the homeland

Coming to the 2023 Thuan An city "Charming countryside" contest, many tourists and locals have admired the meticulous investment of the contestants and participating units. The most impressive at the final round of the competition was the combination and investment from costumes, props, and scenes of the participating units. With this careful investment, the units brought the audience special performances, associated with the specialties and culture of the locality where is very famous for delicious fruits. The image of mangosteen trees, burmese grape trees and beautifully decorated ceramic vases on the stage of the participating unit from Binh Nham ward’s People's Committee further enhanced the performance of the members striding confidently in “Ao dai” with meaningful messages.

Also with the idea of ​​promoting the local products, the participating unit of Thuan An city’s Labor Union attracted everyone by the graceful beauty of the group members performing “ba ba”  shirt together with familiar ceramic products in every Vietnamese family such as vase, teapot, bowl…

Nguyen Thi My Dung, a teacher of An Thanh primary school said that although this is the first time she has participated in the contest, for her this was a great playground. This was because this was one of the activities taking place in the "Lai Thieu in ripe fruit season" festival 2023. The feeling of immersing in the festival, contributing to promoting the beautiful image of the homeland with friends at home and abroad made this young teacher be more proud. My Dung also had the opportunity to exchange, connect, learn and participate in experiencing many activities of the festival with other candidates who are friends, colleagues and sisters in communes and wards of the city.

Honoring women in countryside

Not only showing their charming talents through the performances of “Ba Ba” and “Ao Dai” costumes, candidates of the contest was also very skillful in answering questions about the land and people of Thuan An, the "Lai Thieu in ripe fruit season” festival", the local specialties...

In addition, there was a speech contest of groups about "The position of the Vietnamese “Ao Dai” on the way of international integration". Through the contest, candidates and teams also proposed ideas for developing garden eco-tourism, affirming the importance of preserving the local orchards in the current period of urbanization... The confidence of the candidates and teams contributed to enhancing the image of Lai Thieu's women who are always gentle, kind, simple and full of compassion.

Nguyen Tan Dung, Director of Thuan An city’s Center for Culture, Information and Sports said that the "Charming countryside" contest was one of the activities taking place at the 2023 "Lai Thieu in ripe fruit season" festival. The enthusiastic participation of the contestants and units increased the color and meaning of this playground, meeting the requirements of the organizing board. The contest aimed at preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values ​​of the nation, contributing to the orientation of education of truth - goodness - beauty in today's era while honoring the traditional beauty of Vietnamese women in general and women in Thuan An countryside in particular.

The contest attracted 120 female candidates living and working in the city. They were divided into 2 groups: Group A (from 18-29 years old) and Group B (from 30-50 years old). The jury selected 20 candidates and 6 collectives for the final round. In the final round, collectives and individuals enthusiastically competed in the following contents: “Ba Ba” and “Ao Dai” performances; behavioral and eloquent testing parts. As a result, Phan Chu Trinh primary school excellently won the first prize in the group. In terms of individual prizes, the first prize in Group A belonged to Phan Thi Minh Nga (born in 1994, Phan Chu Trinh primary school). The first prize in Group B went to Pham Thi Ngan (born in 1982, Phu Long secondary school). The Organizing Board of the contest also awarded the second, third, consolation and sub-prizes to collectives and individuals
