On October 5, the province reviewed the 2024 city-level defense zone exercise. Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee, chaired the meeting as Head of provincial Exercise Steering Committee.
The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Council, along with other members of provincial Party Standing Committee.
In 2024, the province organized city-level defence zone exercises in Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An and Da An cities. The exercises in all three cities were comprehensively completed, with several aspects demonstrating in-depth research and creative application of the Party’s guidelines, the State's policies and laws on military, defense tasks and the building and operation of district-level defense zones.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Dung emphasized that in order to continue building strong district and city-level defense zones, it is essential to uphold the comprehensive strength of all resources to meet the needs of national defense in the new context. He called on units and localities to continue effectively implementing the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on military, defense, security and building stronger defense zones. He also stressed the importance of building a strong people's heart posture, promoting political potential, cultural and social spirit in the region.
Provincial People’s Committee Permanent Vice Chairman highlighted the need for units and localities to strengthen the dissemination and communication of information, raising all-level authorities, sectors, political and social organizations, people’s awareness and responsibility of military, defense tasks and the construction of defense zones. He also called for enhancing the leadership of the Party and the administration of the State in the effort to build and operate defense zones effectively.
