2024 military enlistment camping festival: Proud of tradition, following elders’ footsteps

Yesterday morning (February 26), 9 districts, towns and cities in the province simultaneously organized the 2024 military enlistment camping festival to inspire 1,670 young people to participate in military service and 382 young people to participate in police service. With many exciting activities, the camping festival created a bustling and joyful atmosphere for new recruits before joining the army.

“Honoring soldiers”

In 2024, Tan Uyen city was chosen as the location to organize provincial military enlistment camping festival, so all steps were prepared carefully. The camping festival's big theme was "Being proud of the heroic city, Tan Uyen youth aspire to contribute, being ready to defend the Fatherland". At 6 a.m., the camp started with the military welcome program. With the theme of "Honoring soldiers", Tan Uyen city welcomed 206 new recruits from 12 communes and wards at the camping festival. The camping festival featured many attractive contents on "Green - clean - beautiful - bright – safe” sub-camps, "Arrangement of five-fruit tray", "Warm meal with love for army and people", a talk show on "Historical traditions of the Party, our people, traditions of the Vietnamese people's armed forces"; honored young people who volunteer to join the army in 2024, "outstanding youth with the desire to contribute to protecting the Fatherland"; organized cultural exchanges - campfire activities, a military handover and reception ceremony…

In the exciting atmosphere of the camping festival, Thai Van Loi, a volunteer youth in Phu Chanh ward, shared: "I was really surprised and touched to be given a very respectful send-off. I promise to try my best to study and practice so as not to disappoint everyone". Speaking at the opening ceremony of the camping festival, Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of Tan Uyen city’s People's Committee said that the meaningful activities of the camping festival will be great encouragement for volunteer youngsters to be ready and feel secure to join the army...

In Thu Dau Mot city, with the theme of "Being proud of young soldiers, worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers", the 2024 military enlistment camping festival attracted hundreds of campers who are Youth Union members, young people and especially those volunteering to join the army. It was noted at Phu My ward’s Sports-Information and Culture Center, where the camping festival took place that most camps were decorated carefully and beautifully. Especially, the units chose the names of martyrs and heroes of the people's armed forces to name sub-camps, associated with the design of the camp gate model under the heroes' names and the camp's theme.

The 2024 army camping festival of Thuan An city had the theme of "Thuan An youth ready to serve the Fatherland" with many exciting activities such as decorating the camp gate and exhibiting photos of military recruitment... Nguyen Tuan Huy, a young Party member volunteering to join the army in Thuan An city said: "At the camping festival, I and other volunteer youth were able to relive the heroic traditions of the nation through exciting activities. This has fueled the fire of enthusiasm, motivating us to be determined to fulfill our youth's duty to the country...".

At Ho Lang Revolutionary Base and Ecotourism Area, Di An city also solemnly organized the opening of the 2024 military camping festival with the theme of "I love my Fatherland" to encourage young people to join the army. Visiting and encouraging young volunteers at the sub-camps, leaders of Di An city praised the spirit of Youth Union members and youth to be ready to join the army while hoping that these new recruits will further promote revolutionary traditions, strive, train and complete all assigned tasks well, being worthy of the trust and love of the Party Committee, government and people of the heroic Di An city.

“Firmly stepping forward under the Party’s flag”

Yesterday morning (February 26), young people from Ben Cat town gathered at the sub-camps, being ready to join the army. As recorded, this year's military enlistment camping festival in the town had 10 sub-camps, including 1 traditional camp, 1 command camp, 8 camps of 8 communes and wards. The gate, stand, glory bridge and 10 sub-camps were vividly decorated with many images and documents about national heroes... in harmony with the camping festival’s main theme of "Firmly stepping forward under the Party’s flag" ... Lieutenant Colonel Bui Van Tru, Political Commissar of Ben Cat town’s Military Command said: "This year, although there are still many difficulties, the quality of military recruitment, especially the political quality and the health of new recruits is higher than 2023.

At the Bau Bang Victory Monument Relic Area, Bau Bang district solemnly organized the 2024 military camping festival with the theme of "Bau Bang youth steadily moving forward". The sub-camps were meticulously made of bamboo with extremely eye-catching shapes. After the opening ceremony, campers listened to traditional talks and played folk games; took part in contests on decorating Uncle Ho's altars and five-fruit trays, making beautiful camp gates, learning about the sovereignty of Vietnam's borders and islands... The 2024 military enlistment camping festival with the theme of "Bau Bang youth steadily moving forward" has educated patriotic traditions, aroused a sense of responsibility and created favorable conditions for Youth Union members and young people to exchange, thereby encouraging young volunteers to feel secure in joining the army.

Ready to move on…

Yesterday morning (February 26), Dau Tieng district also organized the 2024 military enlistment camping festival with the theme of "Dau Tieng youth are ready to move on". The military enlistment camping festival was solemnly organized with many meaningful activities, demonstrating the deep concern of the local Party committee, government, Fatherland Front and mass organizations for young volunteers. At the camping festival, young volunteers participated in fun activities and listened to traditional education, thereby raising awareness and arousing youth's national pride and responsibility for the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

New recruits from Di An city are ready to join the army

In 2024, Dau Tieng district’s Council of Military Service has directed the local departments, units, communes and towns to well carry out propaganda, mobilization, recruitment of citizens to join the army, opportunely visit and encourage young volunteers ‘families, creating motivation and good psychology to help young people feel secure when joining the army...

From the early morning of February 26, the young volunteers of Phu Giao district were fully gathered to attend the opening ceremony of the 2024 military enlistment camping festival at the Phuoc Thanh Provincial Governor's Palace relic site. This year, the camping festival had the theme of "Phu Giao youth being proud of the heroic tradition, being ready to defend the Fatherland". The camping festival took place with many activities such as a traditional talk with the theme of "Aspiration for contribution - The reason for youth", an art program with the theme of "Phu Giao youth are proud of the heroic tradition, being ready to defend the Fatherland" and a ceremony to commend families of Party members, young Party members and outstanding young people joining the army..., to educate, motivate and encourage the spirit of young people to join the army.

Early February 26, North Tan Uyen district’s 2024 military enlistment camp festival with the theme of "Youth of North Tan Uyen district are proud of tradition - Following in the footsteps of their elders", was held solemnly at the War Zone D Memorial Site. The camping festival took place with such meaningful and joyful activities as organizing a contest on beautiful camp decoration; offering flowers and burning incense to pay tribute to heroic martyrs. On the evening of the same day, the camping festival also organized group games and honored young Party members, young volunteers joining the army and exchanged with veterans, demobilized soldiers, young people and families of outstanding young people volunteering to join the army.
