The 6th International Processing, Filling and Packaging Exhibition and Conference for Vietnam (ProPak Vietnam 2011) and International Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Processing, Filling, Packaging and Ingredients Exhibition (PIA/Vietnam) are being held in Ho Chi Minh City from March 23-25.

The two international events attracted 243 businesses from 28 countries and territories to display their innovative machinery, equipment and solutions on the industries. They also discussed with their Vietnamese counterparts ideas on expanding business and investment opportunities.

Director of the VCCI Exhibition Service Co. Ltd, Vietchamexpo, Bui Thi Thuc Anh said the exhibitions are effective forums for businesses seeking information and opportunities to boost the development of the Vietnamese technological market. IN addition, foreign businesses show their support and interest in Vietnam’s growing economy when returning to Vietnam to attend the events.

Director of the Bangkok Exhibition Services Company - Thai BES, David Aitken, said he hopes the exhibitions will attract 8,000 visitors and that contracts signed during the events will reach US$55 million.

Many Vietnamese businesses sent representatives to the exhibitions and a large number of visitors attended from Thailand, Malaysia, India, Japan, Laos, Myanamr, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Taiwan (China), Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Indonesia, Pakistan and Australia.
