The 3rd congress of Phu Loi ward’s Fatherland Front Committee (FFC) in TDM city took place successfully on October 30, aiming to uphold the role of Fatherland Front activities, strengthen consensus in the society and build up the national great unity bloc with the objective of a “ Prosperous people, strong country, democracy, equity and civilization”. The congress mapped out an action program with many practical and specific measures for the next tenure.

Early October 30, 105 delegates attended the 3rd congress of Phu Loi ward’s FFC for the 2013 and 2018 tenure. Upholding the role of Fatherland Front activities, strengthening consensus in the society and building up the national great unity bloc with the objective of a “ Prosperous people, strong country, democracy, equity and civilization”, they gave ideas to the congress’s report reviewing the local FFC’s activities in the last tenure and defined orientations for the next tenure.

Do Viet Dung, Vice-Chairman of Phu Loi ward’s FFC delivered a report on the results of the local FFC’s activities in the 2008-2013 tenure. Noticeably, the local FFC and its affiliates mobilized nearly VND22bln in loan for more than 4,900 people to do business and stabilize their lives. This contributed to helping the ratio of poor households under the province’s poverty line reduce to 0.33%  by the end of 2013 from 2.25% in 2008. The ward also consolidated and built up 76 clubs and groups with nearly 1,400 members. Of these, many clubs on crime prevention, proprietors…worked effectively.

Upon achievements done, the 3rd congress of the ward’s FFC set tasks for the 2013 and 2018 tenure, including further upholding the strength of the national great unity bloc, enhancing the role of the ward’s FFC in the intensified period of national renewal process for the goal of a “ Prosperous people, strong country, democracy, equity and civilization”…

Particularly, the ward’s FFC will further promote the campaign of “The entire people consolidate to build up a cultural lifestyle in residential areas” in association with the campaigns of “the Day for the Poor” and “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”; speed up patriotic emulation movements and consolidate the strength of the national great unity bloc to overcome difficulties in socio-economic development; improve the effectiveness of social supervisory and criticism activities, contributing to building of a strong Party organization, government and political system.

The congress also mapped out an action program for the 2013 and 2018 tenure. Under the action program, the ward’s FFC will bend on diversifying mobilization of people from all strata to uphold the strength of the national great unity bloc via patriotic emulation movements; opportunely grasping people’s legitimate aspirations & feelings and reflecting them to the local Party and People’s Committee; attaching special importance to taking care of disadvantaged people, policy beneficiary families, victims of Agent Orange…

In addition, the ward’s FFC will promote patriotic emulation movements to successfully realize the local targets on socio-economic development, national defence-security; strive to have 100% of households, 100% of quarters and 85% of lodging facilities registering to win the titles of “cultural household”, “cultural quarter” and “cultural lodging facility”. And there will be 90% of households, 80% of quarters and 85.5% of lodging facilities recognized as cultural ones.

At the congress, Le Thi Xuan, Chairwoman of Phu Loi ward’s FFC for the 2013 and 2018 tenure also called for people from all strata to boost solidarity and make contributions to building of a prosperous and beautiful homeland. Meanwhile, Nguyen Van Khanh, Chairman of TDM city’s FFC and Phan Van Kep, Secretary of Phu Loi ward’s Party Committee said that the ward’s FFC needed to diversify the task of gathering people, strengthen consensus in the society through movements, uphold the strength of people from all strata…for the 2013 and 2018 tenure.
