4th Army Corps honored with first-class Fatherland Protection Order

Early July 19, the Party Committee of of the 4th Army Corps Command held a ceremony to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Corps (July 20, 1974 - July 20, 2024) and receive the first-class Fatherland Protection Order. The ceremony was attended by Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, Member of the Central Party Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission and Deputy Minister of National Defense; Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, Member of the Central Party Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army. The event was also attended by former Politburo Member and former State President Truong Tan Sang; General Pham Van Tra, former Politburo Member, former Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, former Minister of National Defense, and other military units.

On behalf of Binh Duong provincial leaders, Vo Van Minh, Vice Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Council; Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission. Reviewing the unit’s 50-year tradition of construction, combat, and growth, Major General Le Van Huong, Commander of the 4th Army Corps stated that the Corps was established on the arduous-but-heroic "Eastern Battlefield". And only five months later, the unit achieved its initial victory with the Campaign of the Route 14 - Phuoc Long from December 6, 1974, to January 6, 1975. Over half a century of building, fighting and developing, the generations of officers and soldiers of the 4th Army Corps have always inherited and promoted their traditions, continuously enhancing the Corps' tradition of "Loyalty, Unity, Bravery, Creativity, Self-reliance, and Determination to Win", deserving their role as a key mobile strategic unit of the Ministry of National Defense in the crucial southern region of the Fatherland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam congratulated achievements and victories done by the 4th Army Corps over 50 years of building, fighting and growing. He called on the officers and soldiers of the 4th Army Corps to continue promoting their traditions; educate, thoroughly grasp, and effectively implement the Party and State's views, policies, strategies on national defence-security... On this occasion, the 4th Army Corps was awarded the first-class Fatherland Protection Order by the State President.
