6.6 hectares of mangosteens in Thanh Tuyen granted VietGAP certificates

After more than one year of implementing the Project on developing fruit specialities in Dau Tieng district’s Thanh Tuyen commune for the period of 2015-2018, there have been 6.6 hectares of mangosteens of 9 local households granted VietGAP certificates or 220% of the set target.

In the coming time, households participating the projects will continue being supported in order to maintain their VietGAP process. Provincial Agricultural Promotion Center will act as a bridge between mangosteen growers and purchase linkage groups; open the sale of mangosteens under VietGap standards; assist mangosteen growers to attend contests on delicious fruits…

It is known that the project was approved by provincial People’s Committee with a total expense of nearly VND735million. The project has so far set up a tentative model on mangosteen cultivation under VietGAP standards with 22 hectares in total area of 37 households, aiming to step by step build up Dau Tieng’s  mangosteen trademark.
