Yesterday morning (October 8), provincial Veterans' Association solemnly held the 7th Patriotic Emulation Congress of "Exemplary Veterans" for the 2024-2029 period. This event had significant importance as it aimed at summarizing and evaluating results achieved in the leadership, organization and implementation of emulation and commendation work as well as the "Exemplary Veterans" emulation movement over the past five years.
Spreading many good models and ways
In his opening speech, Major General Tran Huu Tai, Chairman of provincial Veterans' Association emphasized that the congress was an important political activity highlighting the growth of the "Exemplary Veterans" emulation movement, the emulation and commendation efforts from 2019 to 2024. The congress also served as an opportunity to honor outstanding role models, good people and good deeds selected from the grassroots level across the province. It was also a chance to outline directions, tasks, solutions and organizational measures for the emulation movement and emulation-commendation work for the 2024-2029 period. This aimed at enhancing awareness, responsibility and motivation in striving to build up a strong, comprehensive association, well realizing the resolution of the 7th provincial Veterans' Association congress, contributing to successfully implementing the country's and province's socio-economic, national defense-security goals.

Over the past five years, based on the five goals of the "Exemplary Veterans" emulation movement, provincial Veterans' Associations at all levels effectively implemented targets set at the 6th Patriotic Emulation Congress of "Exemplary Veterans". They directed and implemented a wide range of activities in a comprehensive and synchronized manner. The process of organizing the emulation movement underwent many innovations in terms of content, form and methods. During the implementation process, provincial Veterans' Associations at all levels developed many good models, contributing to fostering and identifying numerous exemplary individuals, in line with the political tasks of the association as well as the tasks of economic-social development, national defense and security of the country and localities...
Specifically, in Thu Dau Mot city, the "Exemplary Veterans" emulation movement aligned with the association's theme of "Exemplary, Creative, United" and local campaigns, namely provincial Party Committee's Plan No. 02 on "Mass mobilization in building a cultural and civilized lifestyle" and the city's plan for "A City Without Garbage”… Based on this, 14 Veterans' Association branches of the city registered to carry out 28 models and 14 works. The city's Veterans' Association also developed plans and joint programs, proposing various solutions to meet the city's 12 criteria for "3 No-s," "4 Good-s" and the "Citizen with 5 exemplary performances" while promoting the image of affectionate and responsible veterans.
After five years of implementing the "Exemplary Veterans" emulation movement, the Veterans Association branch of Tan Thanh township in North Tan Uyen district had 27 collectives and 82 individuals awarded the certificates of merit, with 37 mementoes from the Vietnam Veterans' Association Central Committee. These results were achieved through the association's efforts in actively and effectively providing advice to local Party committees and authorities, coordinating with various sectors and organizations to excellently fulfill all tasks. Emulation movement improved
To ensure that the patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans" for the 2024-2029 period, in conjunction with implementing "Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle" spreads among Veterans Associations at all levels, members and truly becomes a driving force for Veterans Associations at all levels to effectively carry out their political duties, setting examples in participating in local movements and campaigns, the Executive Board of provincial Veterans Association has launched the patriotic emulation movement of "Exemplary Veterans" for the 2024-2029 period with the theme of "Exemplary - Creative - United" in the spirit of "Everyone competing, every sector competing" for 400 days and nights of "Unity, Creativity - Competing to Build a Smart, Civilized, Modern, and Affectionate Binh Duong".
“Provincial Veterans' associations at all levels will take emulation as a motivation to promote patriotism, expressed through specific actions in performing political tasks, being exemplary in implementing local campaigns and movements and building strong associations. Patriotism will also serve as a driving force to elevate the province's “Exemplary Veterans”movement to new heights", affirmed Major General Tran Huu Tai.
In his orientation speech at the congress, Major General Nguyen Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association, expressed his hope that in the coming period, provincial Veterans Associations at all levels should focus on clearly defining the functions and duties of the association. He emphasized the need to deeply grasp Ho Chi Minh's ideology on patriotic emulation and strengthen the leadership and direction of Party committees at all levels, the standing committees and executive boards of all-level associations. Major General Nguyen Minh Hoang also stressed that the emulation movement should focus on building a strong association in terms of politics, ideology and organization while also effectively implementing local movements and campaigns.
