8 Vietnamese players to compete at U19 Asia Badminton Champs

Vietnam will send eight players who were born from 1994 to 1996 to the U19 Asia Badminton Championships 2012 in Gimcheon, South Korea from June 30 to July 7.

According to the Asian Badminton Federation, the tournament will attract 16 teams, including strong ones from China, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia and host South Korea.

Eight Vietnamese players aging from 16 to 18 years old will participate in the event, including four boys - Pham Hong Nam, Do Tuan Duc, Ngo Xuan Tu, Pham Cao Cuong - and four girls – Pham Nhu Thao, Le Thu Huyen, Dinh Thi Phuong Hong and Thai Vuong Nhi.

They are the most outstanding players of badminton clubs in Hanoi and HCM City. Hanoi’s Le Thu Huyen is the most remarkable talent. She was called up to the national team to compete at the Southeast Asian Games 2011 besides senior players like Hong Gam, Vu Thi Trang and Nguyen Thi Sen.

The U19 Asia Badminton Championships will open on June 30, with the group category. Vietnam is in D group with China and Japan
