9th provincial Phu Dong sports festival concludes
Lasting from Jan.23 to Mar.23, the 9th provincial Phu Dong sports festival attracted 10,000 athletes and coaches representing 9 divisions of education-training and 33 primary, secondary, high schools across the province, competing for 577 sets of medals in 14 events: athletics, swimming, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, Taekwondo, Karatedo, Vovinam, chess, table tennis, tug-of-war, gymnastics and shuttlecock kicking.
In the primary and secondary-school block, TDM city topped the sports festival, followed by Thuan An and Di An. First prize in the high-school block belonged to Nguyen Trai school. Di An and Phuoc Vinh schools took second and third positions, respectively.
Thanks to good organization together with athletes’ good performance, this year’s festival took place very successfully, thereby contributing to promoting the movement of “All people take physical exercises following the example off great Uncle Ho”.
