A cultural highlight
One of the key highlights in the implementation of provincial Party Standing Committee’s Project No. 02 on "Mass Mobilization Work in Building a Cultural and Civilized Lifestyle in Binh Duong province for the 2021–2025 Period" is the initiative called "Civilized Saturday". After one year of implementation, organizing community-oriented activities on Saturdays has become a widespread cultural norm throughout the province.
To further promote positive changes in building up a cultural and civilized lifestyle, the Steering Committee of the Project No.02 developed and implemented the "Civilized Saturday" plan to intensify public communication and mobilize the active participation of all citizens in the project. Specific activities include environmental protection, urban and rural beautification, the promotion of polite and cultured behavior. These efforts have helped raise public awareness and foster habits and a sense of responsibility in everyday conduct, especially in relation to the community and living environment. After one year, "Civilized Saturday" has grown into an exciting emulation movement among officials, Party members and people from all strata in the province.
Based on practical needs, localities and agencies have launched "Civilized Saturday" for a civilized, green, clean, beautiful and compassionate Binh Duong through concrete and meaningful actions. Many innovative models and effective practices in promoting a cultural and civilized lifestyle have been successfully deployed and have spread widely across communities. Every citizen has become more conscious and involved through even the smallest actions such as not littering, sorting waste at the source, conserving electricity and water, avoiding encroachment on sidewalks and roadways, cleaning the environment, building bright, green, clean, beautiful and safe residential areas. This includes keeping homes clean, alleys tidy, streets beautiful, speaking kindly, doing good deeds, acting gracefully in public and spreading the message of living beautifully and responsibly with the environment and the community.
It can be said that "Civilized Saturday" is not only an isolated activity, but has also truly become a shared cultural value of the community. Officials, Party members, Youth Union members, association members and all citizens now consider participation in "Civilized Saturday" as a regular and voluntary activity. Everyone is joining hands and contributing to building the image of a prosperous, civilized, modern, compassionate and livable Binh Duong.
