"Always being exemplary, enthusiastic in work and skillful in propagandizing and mobilizing people to trust, understand and follow..." is the assessment of many people about Dinh Thi Luyen, Head of the Front Working Board of Hoa Phu ward’s quarter 5 in Thu Dau Mot city.

For love of this land

Mrs.Luyen used to work as a teacher at a high school in Son La province’s Moc Chau district. She never thought that one day she would leave her hometown for Binh Duong. For a teacher at a district-level school at that time, the two words "Southern" were visualized by her through songs, movies and television. At 51 years old, the age when people often want to rest, she and her husband "wrapped up" with two children to Binh Duong to live. According to Mrs. Luyen, the reason for coming here is not to just follow her children, but she also knows that there is a mild, pleasant climate and friendly people. Therefore, she wants to stick with this place.

In 2014, Mrs. Luyen and her husband moved to the south and lived in Thuan An city’s An Phu ward for 2 years, then moved back to Hoa Phu ward to settle down. After 2 years here, she was trusted by the people and assigned to be the Head of the quarter’s Front Working Board. At first, she was more worried than happy. “I was very worried, so I did not yet understand the culture and lifestyle of the region fully. Moreover, I'm not a local, so I'm afraid that people won't listen to me…”, shared she.

Mrs. Luyen added: “At that time, I was grateful to Mrs. Quoi, a local resident and also a member of the local Women’s Union, so we often participated in activities together. When I was newly assigned by the Party cell as Head of the quarter’s Front Working Board, I asked for her to accompany me when I convened people to attend the first meeting to facilitate access to the people. Just like that, I overcame all difficulties to perform the task better and better…”.

Putting the common benefits first

For the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws coming into life, Mrs. Luyen and leaders of the quarter have actively propagandized in the most specific and closest way to the people. She has always tried to well perform her task of being the center of solidarity, initiative, positivity and being enterprising for the common benefits. She shared: “After 4 years of doing this work, it is not too long with hardships, but the work has created conditions for me to be close to the people and bring more joy to everyone, especially take care of difficult situations. For those in charge of front work, the greatest joy is trusted by the people.”

Sharing about her experience, Mrs. Luyen said that in order to propagandize and mobilize effectively, front cadres must be close to the grassroots, grasping the people's thoughts, aspirations and opinions, thereby having the suitable form of mobilization to each specific situation and time. "The important thing for those in charge of the front work is to “talk the talk, walk the walk”, so that propaganda and mobilization will be effective and people will trust and follow", said Mrs. Luyen.

Thanks to the efforts by Ms. Luyen, in recent years, quarter 5 has implemented the registration of cultural titles, mobilizing people to sign a commitment to implement the "Cultural - civilized urban lifestyle". As a result of the year-end review, 100% of households and all 22 lodging facilities won the titles of the cultural ones… Besides, she has regularly propagandized and mobilized the local people to keep the quarter, environment, urban landscape green, clean and beautiful, not violate the business of encroaching on sidewalks and road corridors, litter in the right places, remove illegal advertising boards and leaflets...

Talking about Mrs. Luyen, Nguyen Hoang Yen, Chairwoman of Hoa Phu ward’s Fatherland Front Committee said: “Dinh Thi Luyen is a cadre who is always enthusiastic in her work and in the vanguard of the emulation movements launched by the ward’s Fatherland Front Committee. She and her family have always been exemplary in observing the Party's guidelines, the State’s policies, laws and local regulations. As the Head of the quarter 5’s Front Working Board, she has always successfully completed the assigned tasks and the annual ranking results of the quarter 5 are always excellent. In addition, she has got involved in activities of other organizations such as the Women's Union, the Association for Elderly; coordinated with the Executive Board of the quarter to clean up roads to implement the Project on Improving the quality of the campaign to build up an urban civilized - cultural lifestyle in the ward”.

With her efforts in work, Dinh Thi Luyen is a typical example, well realizing her role as a bridge between the Party, the government and the people in the quarter. With a sense of responsibility, dynamism and enthusiasm in her work, over the past years, Ms. Luyen was appreciated highly by the local all-level Party committees and authorities. She was one of the examples honored by provincial Fatherland Front Committee for outstanding achievements in front work.
