Phan Thanh Cong used to be successful in cucumber planting on an area of 5,000m2 with an annual income of nearly VND100 mln. Recently, he has succeeded in pigeon growing. He said, after his family had grown rubber trees, he bought and grew 6 couples of pigeons worth VND3 mln. Now it increases by 40 couples. Then he bought other 40 couples, raising the total number up to 85 couples. The start-up capital for breeders, cages was about VND40 mln. They breed a couple of male-famale eggs which grow up and sell for VND100,000 per couple after 30 days. If the market is stable, the large number of pigeons could create high profits”.
