A flourishing year of Binh Duong culture, sports and tourism branch

Overcoming many difficulties in 2022, Binh Duong's socio-economic results saw good changes in most sectors. Contributing to that common result, the culture, sports and tourism sector implemented and organized well its activities and fields, effectively met the requirements, and fulfilled political tasks, meeting the demand for cultural enjoyment of all classes of people.

With many achievements, in 2022, Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was awarded an excellent emulation flag by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Many achievements

Nguyen Khoa Hai, Director of Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that in order to fulfill targets and tasks of the year 2022, the department directed its units to follow the directions and orientations set by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, of Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial People's Committee to advise on the development and implementation of programs and work plans. With initiative and efforts of all public employees in this branch to overcome difficulties, cultural, sport and tourism fields in the province was connected, promoted its important role in the overall socio-economic development of the province.

As a result, in 2022, most targets and tasks were met and exceeded the set plan. Communication and organization of cultural, artistic, physical training and sports activities are done with rich and diverse contents and forms to serve political tasks and meet folks’ demand for cultural enjoyment.  The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" continued to be expanded, integrated with movements of new rural cultural construction, civilized urban lifestyle.

Cultural institutions, sports and relics from the provincial to grassroots levels continued to be repaired and renovated. In 2022, this branch held the inauguration ceremony of upgrading material facilities of Provincial Museum and opening of thematic exhibition "Images and artifacts of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Minh Triet, period 2006-2011” at Provincial Museum. The Provincial People's Committee decided to rank 2 relics, bringing the total number of ranked relics in the province to 65 relics.

The position and role of sports has been increasingly promoted. In which, provincial cultural, sports and tourism branch successfully hosted the 6th Provincial Sports Games 2022. Provincial sports teams and athletes participated in national and international tournaments and gained many achievements, notably Binh Duong team joined the Vietnamese national delegation to win 14 gold medals at SEA Game 31. At the 9th National Sports Games 2022, Binh Duong sports delegation ranked 8 out of 65 provinces, cities and industries.

The reopening of tourism activities under new normal conditions has been bringing positive signals. The total number of visitors and tourism revenue in 2022 increased significantly compared to 2021. Tourism promotion activities were boosted through the organization and participation of cultural and tourism events. In 2022, the province's tourism industry is estimated to serve 1.8 million/1.5 million visitors (reaching 120% target, up 181.3% over the same period in 2021). In particular, the province successfully hosted the 4th Binh Duong Food Festival 2022, which attracted tens of thousands of people and tourists to visit and enjoy the cuisine.

To complete the mission

Good results achieved in the past year are the basis and motivation for all employees of the culture, sports and tourism branch continues to fulfill its targets and tasks in 2023.

Nguyen Khoa Hai added that, in order to complete the assigned tasks, the culture, sports and tourism branch needs to further promote the role of its core force in the cause of "Reviving Vietnamese culture in the new era", continue to effectively implement six groups of tasks and four groups of solutions on construction, preserve and promote the unique values of an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity as directed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the 2021 National Cultural Conference.

The branch proactively cooperates with all levels and branches in the province to actively implement main tasks and solutions for the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the State budget estimate in 2023.

Accordingly, units in this branch continue to perform well the visual propagation, organize cultural, artistic and sports activities to celebrate the country's major holidays and political events in the year 2023. To organize activities to celebrate the Party - celebrate Lunar New Year 2023 from the province to the districts, towns and cities while ensuring absolute safety, fun, healthiness, thrift, and efficiency.

In addition, the branch strictly implements instructions on the organization and management of festivals, especially the time before, during and after Lunar New Year 2023; effectively develops and implements the plan of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, of Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of the Government's resolution on some tasks and solutions for socio-economic development and the State budget estimate in 2023, strives to fulfill the ordinance targets assigned by the Provincial People's Committee.

The branch also continues to accelerate administrative reform, in which the reception and settlement of administrative procedures are improved through online public services at level 4. Departments, non-business subordinate units, Culture and Information Offices of districts, towns and cities, and Centers of Culture, Sports and Radio, Centers of Culture, Information and Sports of districts, towns and cities start to perform works right from the beginning of new year to ensure the full and effective implementation of all works on schedule.

Good results of 2022 achieved are all the efforts of public employees in the whole culture, sports and tourism branch. Our activities always receive the attention and guidance of the Party Committees and authorities at all levels, the coordination and support of departments, agencies, fronts and unions of the province, localities, and the business community. In addition to achievements of collectives and individuals that have been rewarded by all levels and branches, in 2022, Binh Duong Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also received an excellent emulation flag rewarded by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism".
