A warm and meaningful spring
In recent days, provincial trade unions at all levels have visited, offered gifts and extend Tet greetings to the elderly, workers, the poor and armed forces, ensuring a safe and joyful Tet. Here are some photos taken by reporters from Binh Duong Newspaper during these significant activities.
*Visiting and extending Tet greetings to the 34th Army Corps Command
On the occasion of the 2025 Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, provincial delegation, led by Vo Van Minh, Vice Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Committee, visited and extended Tet greetings to the 34th Army Corps Command.
At the 34th Army Corps' headquarters, Mr. Minh extended Tet greetings to the officers and soldiers, wishing for continued solidarity and collaboration between the unit and Binh Duong province to fulfill their assigned duties successfully. Colonel Duong Van Quang, Deputy Commander of the 34th Army Corps shared with the delegation that the corps was established by merging the 3rd and 4th Army Corps under the Decision No. 5989/QĐ-BQP, issued on December 10, 2024, by the Minister of Defense. He expressed gratitude for the thoughtful care shown by the province in organizing the visit and noted that the officers and soldiers were deeply moved. Colonel Quang also expressed his hope for continued coordination between the local authorities and the unit to successfully accomplish their tasks.
*Sharing with those in need
To support disadvantaged individuals, Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, led a delegation to visit and offer gifts to policy families, low-income households, children with difficult circumstances and workers in Bau Bang district. The delegation also participated in the “Tet of Kindness – Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025” program and awarded scholarships to underprivileged students for the 2024-2025 academic year. During the program, provincial Red Cross Society presented symbolic support worth VND 200 million to the “Tet of Kindness – Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025” program in Bau Bang district.
On this occasion, the delegation also visited five policy beneficiary families in Lai Uyen town and offered gifts to low-income households, children with special difficulties and workers living away from home.
*Over 60,200 “Tet of Kindness” gifts distributed
To help disadvantaged individuals enjoy a warm Tet, provincial Red Cross Society implemented the “Tet of Kindness – Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025” campaign, which saw widespread participation from people from all strata. With the collaboration of agencies, organizations, businesses, individuals and charitable groups and out of the province, provincial Red Cross distributed tens of thousands of gifts to those in need, ensuring that everyone could celebrate a warm and joyful Tet.
According to provincial Red Cross Society, as of January 20, the campaign organized numerous visits and delivered 60,245 “Tet of Kindness” gift packages to people with difficult circumstances, including victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, the visually impaired, the disabled, the alone elderly, orphans, students facing hardships, children who lost parents, due to COVID-19 and migrant workers in need in and out of the province…
Each gift package included essential items and cash, with values ranging from VND 500,000 to VND 5.5 million per package. The total value of the campaign exceeded VND 32 billion. At the provincial level, 7,850 gift packages worth between VND1 million and VND 1.5 million each, were distributed, amounting to over VND 8.5 billion. Meanwhile, localities distributed 52,395 gift packages, with a total value of over VND 21.1 billion.
In addition, provincial Red Cross Society awarded 480 scholarships worth over VND 2.4 billion to students with difficult circumstances. Each scholarship included VND 5 million in cash and a gift worth VND 500,000. Furthermore, the Red Cross organized 11 "Zero-dong Tet markets" issuing 3,700 shopping vouchers for disadvantaged individuals to purchase essential goods for free, with a total value of over VND 2.3 billion.
Additionally, in order to ensure that individuals facing housing difficulties could enjoy a warmer and happier Tet in a new home, provincial Red Cross Society collaborated with local authorities to hand over “Red Cross” houses to three disadvantaged families, including one in Thuan An city and two in Binh Phuoc province.
Provincial Red Cross Society also organizes "Zero-dong Tet markets" to support those in need, offering a variety of essential goods to them for Tet
*Offering gifts, longevity wishes to centenarians
In recent days, provincial delegations have visited and delivered gifts, along with congratulatory cards from the state President, to the local centenarians on the threshold of the Lunar New Year (photo). During these visits, the delegations extended best regards and Tet greetings to them and their families while encouraging the families to continue providing care to ensure that their elders live joyfully and healthily as "pillars of wisdom" and a source of spiritual support within each family. On this occasion, each centenarian received a gift worth VND 5 million from provincial People’s Committee, including VND 2 million in Tet gifts and silk fabric and VND 3 million in cash.
Trinh Duc Tai, Director of provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that every year, provincial People's Committee implements central directions to organize a delegation to visit and sent longevity wishes to the local centenarians. This year, gifts for the local are of higher value than previous years.
