Abundant activities in response to National Digital Transformation Day

With the theme of “Developing digital economy as a driving force for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development”, localities and departments in the province are intensively preparing activities in celebration of National Digital Transformation Day and Binh Duong province Digital Transformation Day (October 10, 2024).

Focusing on 3 messages

According to Le Tuan Anh, Director of provincial Department of Information and Communications, October 10 each year has been designated as National Digital Transformation Day by the Prime Minister. Following the direction of provincial People's Committee, activities in response to National Digital Transformation Day and Binh Duong provincial Digital Transformation Day (October 10) this year will be organized in diverse, innovative and creative ways, ensuring practicality, effectiveness  aligned with the actual situation and the goals, requirements and theme of the Digital Transformation Day: “Developing digital economy as a driving force for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development”.

This is an opportunity to implement national digital transformation tasks, effectively carry out provincial Party Committee’s Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU on digital transformation until 2025, with a vision towards 2030 as well as the plans and directives of provincial People's Committee. All will enhance the role and responsibility of officials, civil servants, public employees, workers, and raise public awareness of the role, significance and benefits of digital innovation in developing digital economy, creating new momentum for economic growth and labor productivity while further fostering the spirit of participation in Digital Transformation Day annually, promote the engagement of the entire political system, coordinate actions at all- level authorities and encourage the involvement of all people, contributing to the success of digital transformation.

The theme for 2024 will focus on 3 messages: “Expanding digital infrastructure and digital innovation to develop digital economy – A new driving force for economic growth and labor productivity”; “Developing digital economy with 4 pillars (information technology industry, digitization for economic sectors, digital governance, digital data) – An important driving force for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development”; Binh Duong with “steadiness, breakthrough, acceleration”.

Vibrant activities

As planned, communication activities in response to Digital Transformation Day in Binh Duong province will take place from September 15 to October 31, 2024, with a peak period from October 1 to October 10, 2024. These activities will ensure alignment with the goals, meaning, spirit and theme of Digital Transformation Day 2024, in sync with the national Digital Transformation Day plan led by the Ministry of Information and Communications in line with the actual conditions of the province. Each department, agency and the People's Committees of districts and cities will organize at least one event or conference.

In an interview, Huynh Thanh Hung, Deputy Head of Bau Bang district’s Culture and Information Department shared that the locality is organizing the "People in Bau Bang learn about digital transformation" competition for 2024. The competition runs from September 12, 2024, to October 2, 2024. Each individual can participate up to once per day in a multiple-choice format on the software at the address https://thitructuyenbaubang.mobiedu.vn.

Meanwhile, Phan Huu Tri, Head of Phu Giao district’s Culture and Information Department shared that the district has selected the People's Committee of Phuoc Vinh township as the venue to organize a program in response to the 2024 National Digital Transformation Day on October 1, 2024. On the same day, Phu Giao district will also launch an online competition to raise public awareness of digital transformation. This activity aims at widely promoting and disseminating the purpose, significance and importance of digital transformation in various fields to the whole society, thereby fostering socio-economic development.

In response to Digital Transformation Day, Tan Uyen city will organize a digital transformation festival at the city square in October 2024. The festival will include various activities such as organizing a ceremony to launch a digital communication channel on popular digital platforms (Zalo mini app), launching a model on smart quarters and hamlets, launching an online competition on information security; honoring organizations and individuals who have excelled in digital transformation efforts…

In terms of activities in response to Digital Transformation Day in the city, Nguyen Trong An, Chairman of Ben Cat city’s People's Committee and Head of the city’s Steering Committee for Administrative Reform, Digital Transformation and the implementation of the Project for Developing Data Applications on Population, Electronic Identification and Authentication and Smart City Orientation (briefly called the Steering Committee under the Decision No.678) shared that the locality will conduct a review on digital transformation quarter and hamlet models and launch a pilot digital transformation hamlet model in Phu An commune’s Phu Thu hamlet. The conference is expected to take place on September 25, 2024. The review event, in conjunction with the launch of the Phu Thu hamlet digital transformation pilot model, will be organized meaningfully and practically, with various activities in celebration of National Digital Transformation Day and Provincial Digital Transformation Day such as promoting cashless payments on designated roads and in traditional markets, issuing public digital signatures, guiding the use of online public services…, creating a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere among people.
