Action Month for Food Safety 2019 implemented

Early April 5, provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DoARD) held a conference on the realization of the Action Month for Food Safety 2019, in attendance of leaders of sectors, departments, localities and more than 100 agro-forestry and fishery facilities.

At the conference, the local agricultural sector implemented an action plan on food safety, aiming to further improve the efficiency and effectiveness of food safety, find out and opportunely prevent the use of banned and harmful substances in cultivation and animal husbandry, minimize biological pollution and pesticide residues in agricultural products…

In 2019, the sector will strive to have at least 15 facilities with certifications for good agricultural practice; get 100% of animals brought into slaughter houses to ensure food safety; carry out unexpected inspection tours at veterinary medicine facilities, slaughter houses…

On this occasion, representative of provincial DoARD awarded VietGap certifications to production facilities in 2018 and 2019; presented the certificates of merit to outstanding business and production facilities in food safety last year.
