On the afternoon of October 17, Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee met and worked with a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), led by Neeta Pokhrel, Director of ADB’s Water and Urban Development Division, who paid a courtesy visit and discussed a program on provincial urban development project.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed provincial urban development project between 2024 and 2031. The project will be carried out in Thu Dau Mot city, Thuan An city, Ben Cat city, Phu Giao district and Bau Bang district, with total capital of nearly US$ 317 million. ADB will provide 70.5% of the funding while the province will contribute 29.5%. Neeta Pokhrel stated that ADB agreed with the proposed loan, project scale and mentioned that the working group is interested in the land allocation for building treatment plants as well as the province's approval and support for the project. ADB committed to working with provincial People's Committee to study and discuss the project to reach a consensus on its timely implementation, addressing climate change.
Mr. Dung welcomed ADB's cooperation and funding for the project and expressed hope that ADB will further support so that new projects in Binh Duong will be implemented soon. The project is expected to contribute to synchronizing the province’s wastewater treatment system, significantly improving infrastructure facilities, particularly in wastewater collection and treatment and protecting the environment in line with the province's sustainable development goals…
